Not sure of exact litreage as its quite hard to work out, but its got a front pocket and measures 26x16x16cm internally. For day to day stuff, its great for a lock, small jacket and your pocket dump. For a touring setup, its pretty much just a mini command centre for your navigating bits and on-bike food.

I'm literally never out of my compact ring (34t) on my crosscheck... I have a road cassette (28-11) and am contemplating just getting rid of the big ring all together.
I can only envisage running into issues on big alpine descents, I can keep good speed on the flats no problem in the little ring, what do you more seasoned tourers make of it?

I mount my light on the fork, its the easiest solution for this scenario, that or wider on the bars. You can also get an adapter for the klickfix mount which puts a bar above the mount in the centre as far as i remember.
I can do one in orange with a reflective tab if needs be, I can also pop a light loop on the front too, message me if you're keen.
The removable strap comes with the bag!

Yeah they're a roll top, fairly minimal.
As much as I respect Carradice, and understand the aesthetic advantages of cotton duck, from a design point of view it's an incredibly outdated material. 1000d PU Nylon is far superior in every aspect, which is good because that's why it was designed (synthetic canvas)
Another good part is that 1000d doesnt stretch as much as shouldn't be as prone to sag, also you can design in a shape thats less prone to sag too (tapered down from the front to bottom).

Yeah there's no tension on the modern systems, just retention on the hooks.
Shameless plug, just made a thread about the klickfix bag i just put out, might be of interest to you guys, can do full size randos too. http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/258709/

Hey guys,
Me again, I just released a Klickfix bar bag that alot of you will have seen already.
It's pretty simple, It's basically a mini rando bag that fits on your handlebars (via a klickfix mount) instead of a rack.
From my site:
**Opening out from the rider, it provides an easy to access platform for your small essentials. Measuring in at 26cm w x 16cm d x 16cm h it's the ideal compromise for size for a handlebar mounted bag.
It has one main compartment, a closed pocket on the front, open pockets on the side (ideal for wrappers or keys) and a clear flap on top for a GPS device or map.
As always, the bag has been designed with weatherproofness at the front of our mind, this is reflected in the non traditional style of closure on the bag. Due to this, it also doubles as a handy basket style bag when you're caught with too much to carry home from the supermarket.
Constructed of a top of specification 1000d PU Nylon outer and lined with a top quality 4oz PU Nylon liner. A HDPE sheet keeps the bag nice and boxy for ease of access. **
As I say on the site, it comes with the frame but not the Klickfix adapter itself. These are super duper readily available everywhere.
Its 65 + Post, can do a bunch of colours if people fancy it, Black is of course available.
Available here: http://www.bigxtop.com/products/rando-bar-bag
Also as some of you may have noticed, I've been making rando bags too, I'll be releasing these soon too.. however don't be a stranger if you'd like a full size rando bag sooner.
Thanks guys, here are some photos

That system is tougher than the ortlieb one, you cant beat metal hooks and a bungee aside from the Arkel system which is a metal rail as opposed to plastic. From what I've been told doing research for my range, plastic rail systems (most common these days) break, the old metal hook and bungee doesnt but the fit isn't as good.

THANK YOU for the heads up, I've been meaning to grab one of these for ages, mainly for development of the touring range, this is a godsend.. especially after just spending stupid money on machinery.
The way I do it, is I have one built in/tacked in support between the two layers, which goes up the sides and along the bottom, and then a removable support on the closed side to the rider. This means you can remove it if you need to pack the bag flat for a trip (the only real reason these stiffeners are removable).

in reference to the rando bag stuff, that's totally correct. standard style rando bags (I made a couple for dudes on here a little while ago) do have weatherproofing isssues due to the closure.
me personally, I've only ever made rando bags with floating liners so water getting through the seams is nearly impossible. I use a 4oz PU liner (simliar weight to 420d pack cloth) with has a 2500HH, rather than a truck tarp (most of the time). Theres no exposed part of the main compartment where the needle has gone from the outside to the inside of the bag.
as for the wet getting in through the top, I've done my best to solve that by making a kind of hybrid fold down closure. in this instance its 100x better than a traditional rando bag closure but it's slightly heavier due to the extra fabric. Chaks new bag is made in this way aswell as the smaller klickfix ones.

Honestly, no idea,
I imagine if it was a cold wash you'd probably be fine. The only thing id be concerned about is that with such a deep soak, you may get water trapped in between the liner and the outer which could create a bit of a stink. If i were you I'd probably just get a damp rag and scrub it down with that.

Awaiting correct shifters to arrive now, ordered downtube, lbs got barend, grrrrrrr!
Anybody recommend a front rack ,that will take a bigtop front bag, that attaches on the cross checks fork rack mounts half way down the fork legs? Only one I can find is nitto m18, anything else I should consider?
Cheers.are you after a rando bag or the barbag? bar bag is smaller but fits using the klickfix mount on the handlebars
Edit: Saw your PM
Sorry for the delay in response, usually I'm good but sometimes it gets on top of me, missed notifications on my phone etc!
