- to the guys expressing their want for the kit. That's great, thank you so much! it's a huge compliment. The gear isnt going anywhere, people are being very supportive and it seems the company will be around for a good while yet.
I've done my best to make sure prices are as low as can be. I plan to remain direct order only forever, alike brands like canyon bikes and the outdoor brand alpkit (obviously much grander than I'd ever see it becoming, but you get what i mean).

Reckon it would benefit from some thorn proof wax? I love the way water rolls of my panniers. I'm 80% sure I will buy one today.
It's 1000d Nylon (cordura), so it wont ever need retreating. It's backed with PU nowadays (as opposed to PVC) and this is done right here in the UK by a company up north. It's the coating that really give it it's strength, and It will repel water as described. Water does roll off when you spray it, but it's a bit different to treated canvas in a way that it can appear wet, but there's no chance of any water going through to the other side.
Regardless, its protected by a second heavy duty floating tarp liner!

alwaysanalogue - How do you find the shoulder straps at the neck when riding, I found not having floating straps can be uncomfortable. As with current bag, Northface Basecamp Duffel.
Suspension or floating straps were tried out with this bag. It ended that in this case, due to the bag not being particularly huge - it made no difference and in some cases was actually less comfortable.
The real difference came when the adjustable height sternum (chest) strap was added. It's hugely important for keeping the straps in place, due to the shape of our necks and shoulders as human beings - the straps slide outwards without them.. which to me personally makes a bag unwearable.

That cucumber placement is brilliant, thanks for the photo!
and yeah, the way that companies measure litre-age is by filling the bag full of tiny balls and then pouring these into a calibrated measuring system, it usually includes all the pockets too. Obviously as a tiny company I dont have the capacity to do this. It's done in this way because the mathematical volume (w x h x l) doesn't actually represent how much it can carry in litres - due to play in fabric.
All I can say is that I've had alot of bags, and this definitely feels like a 28-30L sorta size.
Thanks guys!

It's good. The pack isn't too wide so it doesn't obstruct view, nor does it come up too high. Seems to fit the back pretty perfectly.
Comes alive when it's got stuff in it doesn't it? I get bummed out sending out these empty flat backpacks, I always wish the people recieving them could have a first sight of them stuffed full of gear, but that's not economical - or very 'green'!

Well well well. I'm out at breakfast this morning and arrive home to a backpack shaped parcel waiting for me. I've been itching for this to arrive ever since I was fortunate enough to snake in on the preorder. The wait was well worth it. It's a beautifully designed and well constructed piece of kit. The size is ideal, the pockets and detail are all really useful - bigxtop hip pouches (and probably others I should imagine) can be threaded onto the straps on the front of the bag giving a bit of extra storage space. The padding is comfortable and well placed, meaning the bag doesn't ride up awkwardly when it's a light load, yet remains comfortable when it's jammed full of stuff. Buy one of these and support independently hand made British craftsmanship. You won't regret it.
Thanks so much dude!

Hello!
The daysack is out in a couple days!
Also, even with all this airmesh stuff the big boys try and put out, on a hot day you will not be able to stop your back sweating with any bag,
It's a carry concern really, despite being not a great deal bigger, pound for pound, a backpack tends to carry more. If you only want the bare essentials and enjoy single strap bags, then the mini messenger is for you.
Both are made here from British materials by a cyclist (me) though!

Are any of your products available in any shops?
All of the accessories are, but the mini messenger and the daysack aren't and never will be.
A big part of why these kind of products have such a high market value is cos of the supply chain. So I decided to cut that out so my prices could remain competitive and still of top quality.
My main shops are Urban Cyclery and Charlie the Bikemonger, tho I've got product in several other stores.
