This bags look great! One question - Does anyone find the daysack too tall? in photos the bag looks like it might rest on your neck the whole time. This may be Due to the model having the straps on very tight and not te reality. Would be great to hear before I purchase. Either way, some brilliant work. Cheers
It sits quite low compared to standard hiking style bags. As crop said, if its tight and you're in the drops, it can touch the back of your head - but this is expected in these situations!

Just ordered a coyote brown one as an everyday and hiking bag - really looking forward to it, as your Mini Messenger was so well designed and made.
And it's just the right size for hand luggage on a long-haul flight, too, which is awesome.
Thanks for the kind words and the order,
It's perfect for the above uses, I use mine for day hikes all the time!

It looks fucking excellent, swallows up the kit, and I'm ready for the US.
NB- better photos when there!Really enjoyed making this buddy, make sure you slap them stickers and take a photo, i expect some rad road signs.
Ride safe.
^ fuck me, thats nice!
Would love his take on ILE's rack bag if it costs less than £130 ;)Really cool take on a bag, 130 is a bit steep. I take any kind of bespoke work on if it's interesting, PM me if you're keen!

Have got this lovely new fabric which would look amazing on a daysack, its a type of camo used by the Danish military, here's what it looks like as a mini messenger!

It's the middle of the month too so it's a little more quiet, lead time is lower at the mo.
Thanks for all the support guys, this is the first time I've been able to breathe in two months!
There's also more product coming soon. A larger and more technical pack (outdoor oriented), a sling/hip bag and a few other small things.

I've had one coldset by a frame builder to 135 to fit an alifine 11 speed hub. It works fine but do it at your own risk. A lot of frames have snapped at the crimps on the chain stays. You might be better of selling the frame and getting a pompetamine or kaffenback to replace it.
I'm looking at road spacing (130) which is still quite a jump of course!
Some of the advice says about bracing the weak points on the frame when you do the cold setting - are the snaps happening during the process, or afterwards over time during use?

I've had mine for a few weeks now and im extremely happy with it!
I usually carry at least my 15inch macbook pro and a spare pair of shoes.
but other than that i've easily carried a skateboard and even a frame on it (and then rode with the frame on the bag from north greenwich to euston) it also had a weekends worth of clothes and underwear in it at the time and a pair of shoes inside it and coped more than fine!
and after being caught in the rain a few times i can vouch that they are fully waterproof
so have a Bump, i couldn't be more happy with the bag for the price.
Thank you for the kind words, very glad you're happy with it!

Do the front and side pockets seal or close?
Also - how do these bags wash?
The front and top pockets are fully covered zippers! The sides are open pouches, it's a very common trend for people to put eyelets in the bottom of these - but it's largely pointless, its just one of those things people started doing.
For washing, best thing is a rag and some warm water. It's incredibly tough fabric, and a simple sponge will just leave sponge all over your bag.
A bird pooped on mine the other day and it came off no probs!

Loads of pics of the bag around and I absolutely love it,
Rode 3 miles with a frameset and a front wheel strapped to the back, forks in the sidepocket on one side, lock on the other, seatpost + my other work stuff inside the bag, so good.
The pouches are really really great to, so simple yet I throw them in whatever bag i'm leaving the house with
Pouches being used completely as intended, glad you're enjoying the bag!

the slimness of it deffo appeals to be as a mega skinny guy who finds all backpacks look like kites on my back
Yeah aesthetically I think it looks better! Some packs seem to have gone the way of wide and short which look dire in my eyes, and aren't that great for cycling, despite being aimed at cyclists

Thanks so much for the first week review sirbikealot!
I do know what you mean about the front pocket, purely because its quite a tight squeeze to dig in to get stuff at the bottom correct? I see where you're coming from, but I'm not sure I could cope with wasting that space!
As for width, you wouldn't believe the difference 2.5cm or even 2cm makes to the aesthetic, feel and even in some places comfort of the bag. This was the final sticking point for the design of the bag. You tend to make a bag either too small or too big, then you make the opposite, and then you end up with a medium which is usually where the final ends up. It's quite bizzare! I was definitely very conscious of wanting a slim climbing/hiker bag style look too which was part of the decision!
I'm glad you're happy with it! I hear you about the straps feeling a little raw against a bare shoulder - it's something you find with most bags especially the ones made from the toughest of stuffs like these!
