i'm looking to fit drop bars to an old raleigh thats coming my way this week, however I want to achieve the more "modern" brake lever fitment, and have the brake lever hoods in line with the top of the bar with a nice flat transition from bar to hood, my question is;
to do this will i need to avoid older style brake levers or older handlebars? cheers

don't worry ed, from the looks of this picture it is just the photo angle:

just picked this up off the bay, it's going to be refurbished for my best mates xmas and birthday present, i'm trying to do it cheap, but i feel i may get carried away as it looks like it's in such good condition.

Can I take just the stem?

how would I go about fitting a grind peg to my trick fixed bike? I can't seem to get the track nut to get to the axle inside the peg, any suggestions (that aren't buy a bmx)?

Chainset is 170mm 52 39 that takes a hollowtech BB, not octalink, sorry guys, post edited

Wellgo pedals are still available and yes those cleats should fit, but as i've not used the pedals before, I'm not 100%

also 8speed groupset still available
