@ TJL
I bought a wind jacket last year and was rather smug for the first few showers I got caught in as it held them off; in my mind, it was just a wind jacket so this feature was a bonus! It then was no longer shower proof but it still fulfils my primary requirement of it.
I thought that AndyP said his was no longer waterproof when I saw him at Muddy Hell, but don't quote me on that.
I think Regal has hit the nail on the head there. Mine goes in with all the normal laundry so gest fabric conditioned which, I think, most water resistant/ proof things aren't supposed to be exposed to.

Can anyone recommend somewhere in London to overhal an oldish pocket watch (possibly 1882-1934 based on case hallmark)? I know absolutely nothing about watches or horology so I'm not entirely sure why it's fallen on me to get it sorted out.
I doubt it is a particualrly remarkable piece, but it has a fair amount of sentimental value (apparnetly great grandmother's) so it would be nice to go to someone trusted.

Sorry to hear you're ill, and being rather inconvenienced this week!
Is it worth considering a dehumidifier? When we got our dehumidifier for the flat last year, I noticed a lot of them were reviewed by boat magazines. It made such a massive difference to our flat last year (the walls changed colour due to how much moisture was no longer in them) and, now that it's colder again, it's back in use to dry the laundry. If you don't already, is it worth 'airing the bed' for an hour or so, very grand mother-sh suggestion, but I guess houses used to have these issues.
Also for Duckie in future; maybe flea tablets that also treat ear mites? Higgs came from a micro pig farm and had ear mites which I think the vet missed initially. It was only when I noticed James was bothered by his ears (this reasoning doesn't sound logical, I know, but not the place to explain!) that we took them back to the vet and he gave them a different flea tablet that also kills ear mites. The ear mites lead to irritation that can cause scarring in the ear canal, which may lead to deafness.

@dooks I am indeed 'real'. On the very odd occasion, I even make it to drinks.
I don't remember you being on the ropes but yes, rematch!

@Dooks: I'm fnamna, Dammit's other half - he said he'd been talking to you about it and pointed me to the thread? I'd guess he used the phrase 'bullying people' when referring to me playing scrabble because people keep resigning.
That it is.
Boo.
