Careful about the dubious legality of removing such a bike even if you are 100% the proper owner. Stolen bikes should really be recovered by the police only. I obviously know that quite often, people don't get the police time they request. Glad you got your bike back all the same.

since i had the crime ref number from when i reported it stolen and could describe the bike as matching the one chained to the lamp-post and knew 100% that it was mine i didnt have any problems, i also rang the police when i found it and after it had been liberated, and they gave me the go-ahead down the phone, i think if i hadn't reported my bike as stolen it may be have been a bit harder to seek approval to do this though.

I'm going to pretend i didnt just google OLN to find out that its the over lock nut distance :P
I dont actually know and its over at my dads at the moment, fastest i'll be able to find out is by friday so i'll PM you then, but dont hold onto it on my account.

need a rear track hub for cheap, just got my peugeot that i was half way through converting when it was stolen back from the thieving fools who chained it up on my road, plonkers, but spent all my money on a new-old holdsworth, i would love to keep on working on the peugeot but have a (very)limited budget (£25 for the hub, gulp), dont need one desperately but i would like to be up and running for **Those London Lights #2. **if you could keep your eyes peeled and give me a PM if you hear of anything it would be great.

cant wait, saw the photos from last year and it looks amazing. (and it gives me an excuse to not go to school on friday)

never actually posted it as stolen, but on the way to school today i saw MY peugeot equipe chained to a lamp-post, so i called the plod and they said if i could get it off and prove it was mine i could give it a shot, one quick call to my dad later and he was down with the bolt cutters, job done!

so if anyone says their knackered red peugeot got stolen from outside Alleynes, they are a funder of bike theivery and should be put down like the mongrel they are.

new to LFGSS but may i suggest the prince of wales in Kennington, its one hell of a pub and I live in cleaver square so it's nice and easy to get to.
