True, I'd forgotten my own experience of the air escaping through the sidewalls. I'm still trying to find the sweet spot of achieving a seal. Currently at 50ml and still not sealing.

You could use tubeless without sealant, but it'd be quite a gamble. But yeah TR is essentially a bit of a half-way house requiring more than regular amounts of sealant, which might be useful in the longer term. IDK.

Ha yes, was thinking of that very analogy. It’s virtually just a ghetto set up with potentially a better fit, but that certainly explains the cheaper price.

Wow, I never knew that distinction. It makes sense, as the other one I put in had some sealant already on it from a failed fitting previously and that particular one is holding. This is good to know, thank you.

At a guess, probably lost 60psi over 6 hours.

This was a new one on me. Went to finally install some new Specialized Roubaix tubeless and couldn’t work out why one of them was deflating slowly. Stuck it in the sink to find the tiny leaks in the sidewalls. The tyres have been in storage for 6 months, but this surely isn’t normal? So now my options are A) go old school and tube it or B) say hello to my sealant friend.

I don't know how they did it, but despite me ordering the Frame, cranks, BB, headset and brake, I didn't get charged any import tax. Worked out sooo cheap (sorry UK bike industry).

Thanks! I used to have a 1st gen Ahead Dirt Bike about 25 years ago, but I sold it as at the time wasn't riding it much. That said, it had the nicest geometry and handling of any BMX I'd owned, so the ATF 24" has the pretty much the same angles so it feels just as nice. There's a BMX day at Rom coming up in the Summer, so I'll be trying to head down there again for that, blow some cobwebs away.

My S&M ATF 24" (does that count as little bike?), with good old regular Slam Bars. Deserves to be ridden more than it does, but great ride as you'd expect from S&M. And that's me at Rom at the We Were Rad event last year.

Started riding fixed at 38, and still flying the flag at 50. I keep it fixed as I find it helps maintain my knee muscles which compensate for my ever-deteriorating knees. Still ride SS on the BMX (yes, ok ), but when I got a Brompton a few years ago, the gear experience and lack of fixed action was a massive disappointment, to the extent I converted it to fixed. Do what makes you happy.

This seems to be common trend with a lot of the more recent new-comers to the market. They're almost so heavy as to make them completely reliant on the motor-assist, whereas the Bullit is one of the lightest out there and, I imagine, not too heavy to pedal unassisted.

Thanks for that. Yes, they're a good tyre (I run them on my Brompton), I guess they're not aware of the mixed-use potential of them. Now I just need a few spare mins to give the tubeless a go.
