i would have thought a modern external bb crankset would save a lot of weight but i don't think a track one exists?
Bontrager Race GXP Track - 42.5 mm chainline
Sram Omnium - 42.5 mm chainline (allegedly)
Sram S300 single ring - 42 mm chainline
surely one would argue the aesthetics, but i think they're quite good-looking -
...might as well ...revert to a classical Draisine configuration, which is what I predicted as the next trend...
*damn, I was on trend for once and it got lost in the server fail.MT i think you're an oracle, i will be the witness for your supernatural prediction powers
however, an appearance of *draisine *on SS forum twice within two days IS scary... -

...and i'm puzzled yet again
am i in the right thread? -
Perfect? Certainly not.
As long as you put it in your livingroom maybe. Not if you want to use it as a commuting bike.
Can't ride it because no pedals
The chain will come off in the front
Street illegal, because no retroflectors/strips/etc to the sides
No lighting
rim brakes that eat your rims and brake blocks and make the bike terribly dirty
Derailleur system that is very maintenance-unfriendly
Rear carrier w/o straps, spring loaded "thing" or bags
So, in the end, it's just a piece of design. Nothing more.
But okay, there is uglier design.damn. i kinda liked the bike in question, but this comment shattered my world for tonight
please advise - isn't this a look over *function *thread?.. -
i guess i didn't (who drags these older ones up anyway? :)
however bontrager were available at that time already
