Hey,
Anyone got any particular favourite rides/places to ride in/around the birmingham area they would recommend? I live east of the city (stechford) and would like to get out to a bit of countryside ideally. Nothing too far, 20 miles or so round trip. I've only really commuted in birmingham, and am looking for something a bit more inspiring than the bordesley green road. Any recommendations?

Hey,
Bought a frame with the intention of building up a bike for my g/f as a xmas present. Stupidly, as I was in a rush to pick it up and get back home, didn't check it out properly before buying it. (I'm an idiot, I know, I know, I'm allready kicking myself for it) I knew the general condition was a bit knackered but failed to spot a fairly large dent in the downtube. I've sanded back the rust to check how bad it was. I also put a straight edge against it to check if the whole tube was bent, seems to be out by a few mm. The whole things gaspipe, not butted tubing or anything like that. So, is it a junker? I've had a google and some people say the downtube isn't as important as the others because it's under tension not compression, but obviously I don't want to risk it if it could be dangerous, especially as it's not for me. I can save the headset, forks and bb if I scrap it, unless anyone would be happy to use it for something?
Cheers!

Just got an e-mail from brooks regarding re-hiding:
'' It is possible to fit a new leather top onto saddle, provided that the model concerned is still a current one.
The price for this repair would be £50
Best Regards ''So not cheap, but nice to know it can be done. Note the comment about 'current' models though.
WANTED:
Anyone got a cheap 700c rear wheel there looking to part with? Nothing special just need it for a commuter for my dad, so needs to fit a freewheel. Ideally be running straight and true.
