hi, I have a couple of bikes for sale.
A 57cm Koga Miyata, newly built wheels on lightly used open sport rims, new bb, new headset, new chain, running 48 18 fixed. but has flip flop hub. Looks pretty smart. Currently has flat bars but I 'm sure I could swap them. Looking for £300 ono.A 55cm old brit lugged frame I have fitted new 700 32 tyres which fill the clearances pretty well. It has black wheels, front radially spoked, rear newly built to match. Rear has new sealed bearings. New BB. New chain. Currently on free wheel, possibly 42 16 (not sure). Also has flat bars at the moment. Looking for £250.
They are currently in my brothers shed so may take a day or so to get photos if you're interested. Or you can pop down to Herne Hill and have a look.

I'm sure you're a lot fitter than me but as a newbie I'm curious what gearing you use on these routes. Cheers
Steepest hills in SE London are those roads around the Horniman - there's the short one up to Sydenham (with Kirkdale on the other side), and there's the residential streets to the E of the Horniman, Honor Oak Road, and then go left.
I go home via Greenwich and use Maze Hill as a short lung-buster. Vanbrugh Hill is shorter and steeper.
Pepys Road and Jerningham Road in SE14 are both effective ways to tire the legs.
The slopes up to Crystal Palace are quite fun. The main roads are too busy to be very safe, but I use to do 6 1/2 minute reps on College Road (turning at the roundabout). Do a few of those and your legs know about it!
