It's fixed gear, but not singlespeed. Or single speed.
You get everything shown plus a cable, but not a sprocket (this one is a 15T) for £180 plus postage. It feels very well made and there is minimal lash between driving and braking. Now I need to get some spokes and lace it up. Chainline is adjustable using spacers; in the maximum position shown here it's about 46-46.5mm, which is handily the same as a Goldtec track hub. You can reduce it to about 41mm by moving the spacers.

Alright boys and Girls,
Half way through my first conversion and wanted to ask about the drop outs.....
I've lovingly sanded down a steel frame from an old rigid mbt, cut all the brake bits off (never fear I will have a front brake!!) and I'm now very close to having it Powder coated.....
My problem is the drop outs, the original ones I have sawn off the rear derailier hanger to just leave the drop out 'slot'......Is it worth now that i've put quite a bit of effort into it converting the original drop outs to horizontal drop outs??
I've seen these....would a joe bloggs welder be able to do it or would I have to go to a bike specialist.....http://www.charliethebikemonger.com/userimages/procart12.htm
Or should I just buy a half link??.......do these pose any problems with the running of the chain??
Get it done properly. Dropouts are often brazed in place even if the rest of the bike is welded, because the stays are rather thin at the ends.
Vertical dropouts and fixed are always unsatisfactory. You might get lucky with a magic gear after trying five chainrings and three sprockets, but even then chain wear will catch up with you much quicker than normal. Half-links are not good because they stretch before the rest of the chain and have a bit of a reputation for breaking (pedalling tries to straighten the bent side plates). The ENO hub works for some people, slips for others, and costs just as much as having new dropouts fitted by the best framebuilder you can find (Argos in Bristol are the most expensive I know).
-
It is definitely worth doing, although only really cheap frames are usually so bad for problems to show up (i.e. the headset binds when turned or is loose, but you can't get a proper adjustment in between). I'd prefer it to be done before painting on an all-weather bike, or you'll eventually get rust streaks.

My latest project is an old Saracen MTB frame, which I'm going to have converted to horizontal dropouts, moving most of the parts over from my Cannondale (on which I used an ENO hub, but it slipped like buggery when I climbed steep hills and I got fed up of it; I don't think ENOs and Cannondale dropouts work together).
Kona Project Two forks, Goldtec hub, 41 x 15, V-brake for the moment but disc brake when the rim wears out and I need to rebuild the front wheel. Hopefully the chainring will clear the stays - it did with the 'Dale and if not I'll just get the chainstay crimped at bit.
Oh, and the Fuji Track is getting an S3X, which is now in stock at oldbiketrader.co.uk (£180 plus postage...a bit steep, but that does include the shifter and cable - you'd pay £300-400 for an ASC with the even rarer dedicated shifter).

Has anyone got a Sugino XD crank on a 73 x 107mm Shimano UN54? I currently have it on a 68 x 107mm UN54 but the new frame needs the wider BB - will this crank hit the RH BB cup, or will it just clear it? The chainline should be the same for both (47mm) but the cups are 2.5mm closer to the ends of the spindle.
The current slot dropout version, that is. On-One specify a 50mm chainline, which is rather difficult with fixed (easy enough for SS). Goldtecs are about 46.5mm. Did you have to crimp the RH chainstay? What size ring are you using?
