I have a classic case of 'YMMV'.
The Rapha neoprene overshoes (not deep winter - just the standard ones) developed extra holes very quickly, they were a pain to put on, and I didn't like them at all.
Decided to try the ridiculously expensive Assos S7 ones and ignore all the reviews which said that the zips break. Figured if they break in a month as others have said I would just return them. That was two years ago - they still work brilliantly with barely any sign of wear.

Before I saw this thread a friend recommended Pact. I signed up, got first bag for £1, found the house taste didn't match my preferences and cancelled. It may be unfair to judge based on one bag - if that's how they feel, they could provide two or three small taster bags for the 'first bag' deal instead to show off the range, or just target potential customers who aren't ungrateful dicks like me.
I have to give credit to them for quick delivery and making it easy to cancel. Other subscription thingies often make you call up. Really is a no-risk trial and they should be commended for the way they operate.

Just got off the phone with Speedplay on the walkable cleats. They came out last week and are shipping to the US distributors only at the moment. Not shipping internationally until the US distributor shipments are done - no date, but expecting soon.
Confirmed the rubber bits will be available separately - it won't be necessary to buy the whole cleat if you don't need new cleats.
I expect the rubber won't actually save money because it will wear out so quickly it'll just be another thing to replace, but will surely be safer!

Operation Safeway in full force this morning. Had a friendly officer in Fulham compliment my bike and ask me about my 'sat nav'.
Not enjoying the Bridge St (Parliament Square) road closure at all. There isn't enough room to squeeze past the traffic and it makes the Abingdon St approach even nastier than normal.

The big revolution for me was leaving it for 3-4 minutes. I get a lot more flavour out of the beans and a richer texture. I use about 20g which makes it strong rather than refreshing. I love the texture you get out of an aeropress.
Aside from that: inverted with washed filter and stop plunging as soon as the hissing starts.

You'll get called out for this here, but I understand. It's annoying when people take up way more road space than they need. I used to undertake in that situation but now wait until I can pass them on the right, and mumble at them asking if they needed that much tarmac as I pass. No doubt they can't hear me, but it makes me feel better.

My mafia wheels have two round bare steel spokes opposite the valve while the rest are black and flattened. Whenever I notice them they piss me off.

$$$ and too big for me but wow...
No, I've had mine for two years with no problems like that. They're bobbling slightly around the seat now but doing well.
I don't like the material though - not stretchy enough, which is a problem around the crotch. Switched to these - so much happier. Better fit and wider temperature range.
