Once made a polite grumble that a moped might let me filter through a gap too small for him, got yelled at full volume right in my face "FUCK OFF!". I was stunned, unsure what to say or do. The traffic didn't move for ages, so we just stood there. I said something about this being a bit of an overreaction, there was a pause and he yelled "I'VE HAD A SHIT MORNING, OK?"
As I stand on the Highway waiting for a gap in the traffic to cross or for someone to let me through I sometimes think female cyclists might have an easier time on the roads. Maybe not...

Ed's right. The best thing is to go and try a selection of groupsets and choose the one that you like the shifters on. They all work well, are durable, etc., so it comes down to personal preference.
Exactly right. If everyone did this, then SRAM Red would not exist.
That said, to me the best-feeling shifters are Campag EPS, and I've seen them fail on group rides more than once.

Mechanical Chorus is an excellent groupset - as long as you're willing to pay a premium for parts I thoroughly recommend it, even for commuting year-round, which I use it for.
It may seem expensive but unless I'm staring at it I cannot tell the difference between Chorus and Super Record. SR is just lighter and much more £££. Same technology except ceramic bearings on the SR, which since they are not protected, get grit in them easily and need replacing by the time you've got back from that ride where your bike started to sound like a peppermill.
but as usual, which one feels better in your hands?
Yes - go try them!

Very versatile in terms of usable temperature range. I wear them every day.
So, anything like 'normal mitts' but with long fingers?
That's exactly what these are. Long finger version of their summer mitt.

You can buy tickets to watch the Wiggins attempt now despite it saying you can't until 17th April.

Taking a van with sleeping bags might be an idea, but seriously I do not recommend driving after that ride.

Not quite a buzzword, but abuse of the word 'revert'. It is not a synonym for 'respond'.
