BB puts it very well. LCC pointing out that this is a dangerous junction and that they have pointed this out previously is far from 'crowing'. I do think a CM style ride as suggested by the OP was not appropriate and Veloccio pointed that out eloquently.

Might come to that - but as the original ones were gifted to me it seems off to sell them - will see if anyone has the shims first...

That might explain my problem - my attempted Stella can shim was both raggedy, razor sharp and way too thin...

Anyone happen to have a pair of the above knocking around. My LBS tells me they tend to come with brake levers (and are tricky to get hold of on their own) but I haven't got any with my lovely gifted cross levers and being on the boat this summer means ordering off the net is tricky as I have no address...

Unfortunately when I offer then up to the bars the clamp diameter is too large for the old gb bars. I don't have measuring devices or tape to hand but at least 5mm visible gap at top and to left and right. Is this just too big a gap to shim and I should therefore look for different levers or can I cut up a beer can....?

As the title suggests- looking for a quick and easy rote leaving kings cross midday and heading to Kingston. Not scared of busy roads but would prefer quieter if still direct. My random tfl maps don't join up but look like route 4 is at both ends... Is that well sign posted and if so were does it go through...

I would pop in and discuss. He may be able to supply wheels as you have found at a similar price or be happy to fit the ones you order. It would seem fine to me to ask politely and then respect his answer if he says no.

Had a thoroughly fine time at my first ever norths, struggling to remember names but good to meet Debbie (deLite?), ? (furious tiles), Dimitri (?) and so many more lovely friendly people...I will certainly be back..,,
