I hope so. Early signs are good.
This is my antedote to my idiotic first bike decision. Passed my test in Feb and bought a duke 890. Way too much bike for someone cutting their teeth. Sold the duke.
This feels much more manageable to develop my muscle memory on. And maybe dabble in some light off road.

@Nahguavkire Handsome.
Picked this up today. Couple of years old, only 3k on the clock. Don't think it's been off road.

I hear you loud and clear. He has a choice of where to base himself for the course. Keele or an agricultural college (now a Uni in it's own right). The course is split 50/50 across the 2 campuses.
He's absolutely adamant that he wants to be in the ag college campus, but it is very remote and lacking in facilities, certainly compared to a more conventional campus such as Keele.
When I was at Uni (in Brighton) no one had cars due to affordability and lack of necessity. I could barely afford to feed myself let alone run a car.
I've tried explaining this and he's not for turning. Credit to him, he's been working hard in a part time job alongside his A Level studies and has some savings and plans to work full time through the long summer and get a weekend job at Uni to help make a car a reality. His choice. It wouldn't be mine.
The facts remain, he's going to buy a car so I'd rather help him find one that isn't a total lemon.

I need to find a relatively low cost, but hopefully reliable car for my son who goes to uni next year. Does anyone know of anyone selling something half decent?
Cosmetic imperfections, bumps and scrapes not an issue as long as its mechanically sound as it has to get him to Shropshire. Modest budget, so an older car that has been well looked after service wise is what we're hoping for. He's 18 with 1 years no claims so something that isn't in the upper tiers insurance wise would be preferable.
PM if you know someone who might have something to fit the bill.
Thanks in advance, Damian.

@kl my green vote too!
I really hope the greens took the seat in Wateringbury specifically. That would be the icing on the cake.

It's great to see.
And yet Sunak and his cabal's interpretation of the results is that they must remain focused on the "people's priorities". How fucking tone deaf do you have to be not to realise that the people's priorities are to get rid of the crooks that have caused all the pain, suffering and decimation of living standards in the last decade or so. Just call a GE if you really want to give the people what they want!

Simon Clarke was on the BBC news yesterday saying that if the ECHR tries to "frustrate" their latest nazi proposals then we should immediately withdraw the UK from the ECHR. They know it'll be contested as it directly contradicts the international asylum law. So in other words the whole policy has precisely sweet FA to do with controlling our borders and everything to do with distracting from the hancock WhatsApp messages/people starving/"Sir" Stanley Johnson etc. Whilst at the same time winning back the gammon vote AND removing any last remnants of any human rights UK citizens have.
But its working isn't it? All I heard on the radio/TV news today was talk of small boats and Gary Lineker.

I hear you. Loud and clear. Rain mode (reduced power) and extreme restraint required for the foreseeable. Riding conservatively is a thrill enough, I don't need to venture anywhere near it's limits while I learn. I'm 49 not 21 so understand that motorcycle wise I've passed a minimum standard, and I still have everything to learn.

Thanks. Had my first proper ride out in the potholed and gravel strewn lanes near me last night. Absolutely loved it.
As a relative newb, I think it'll be perfect for me to gain lots of experience on and help build my confidence. Planning a little off road tuition too, which I hope will indirectly improve my road handling too.
