Bike Thief Nabbed...almost:
"He was convinced he had locked the frame of his £350 bike to the stand with the D lock, but he has just retrieved his bike from the cop shop ‘minus one spoke’ – so silly fellow had locked his wheel with the D lock. A lesson to us all. Best to lock both cable and D lock through the frame."

Was on my way out of Tesco's the other day and saw a bloke with dusty lycra and top-range Sidis shopping, obviously after a long ride. Got outside and as expected his expensive Trek was leaning against the wall well away from the doors unlocked. Three lads walked by and one went to take it but the other two stopped him when they spotted me, I even hung around till he returned to his bike.

Anyone tried these Var levers:
"Often refered to as a "bead jack" tyre lever, this is the answer to people who find getting tyres on and off a pain, especialy useful for tight beaded tyres or rims which have been made slightly oversize."

http://cyclingtorrents.nl has the Eurosport coverage of Amstel (and some other things). Wicked!
That's awesome thanks, downloaded the 1 gig 2010 La Fleche Wallone from there in under an hour.

pretty good, but can be embarrassing if you set it of yourself.. lol that would be funny.
Yeah its an XR1, the sensitivity is about right, it gives a warning beep then a few seconds to remove it before alarm goes off when unlocking, and does not beep at all if you unlock it gently. It made it through the winter with no problems after being left out in all weather for nine hours a day, just spray lock with GT85 after rain. The newer ones use a CR2 lithium battery so expect they have longer battery life than the 6 x LR44 Button-cells this one takes, only had to change batteries once since last September so far.

I got a Lock N” Roll seatpost QR for my bike I leave at work, had a ball bearing in it before but missed being able to change saddle height easily, works well as only releases when bike is upside down. Still got a ball bearing in the saddle clamp but use hot melt glue rather than superglue, even then takes a while to get it out with craft knife blade.

What cranks are they? Maybe a JIS/ISO conflict?
"Shimano cranks, on the other hand, have trouble with Campy BB's.......they tend to bottom out."
"This is a good question that comes up every once in a while. JIS tapers are longer and slightly more angled than ISO. So a JIS crank on a ISO BB will tend to use up most, and possibly all, of the ISO taper."

Pop group The Wurzels, whose hits included I Am A Cider Drinker, have been outspoken in their opposition to the rise. They released a statement welcoming the decision.
"Here in the West Country cider is close to our hearts and if we, through our music and association with cider, helped bring this campaign to a ciderhead, then I think we all deserve a pint," they said. -
Put a Lockn'Roll QR on my BMiX, to add to the Kyrptonite cable to protect seat/seatpost. Not as good as glued in ball bearings etc. but only a cheap saddle/post on it anyway and i like to change saddle height easily.
Patent concept : in the horizontal position, the quick release lever is automatically locked, to unlock the bike has to be lifted-up past the vertical position. A special washer makes the unscrewing impossible even with a tool. A mobile axle inside the device prevents it from opening. To unlock the device, simply turn the bicycle upside down. As soon as the bike passes the vertical position, the axle falls down releasing the possibility of opening the lever.
