Got a used (2003) 55cm Bianchi Veloce Reparto Corse from SJS_Cycles Ebay shop. Bike delivered by Tuffnells early on day I asked for. Bike was well boxed and prepared and is running fine after unpacking and putting pedals on and handlebars straight. They answered an email enquiry within a couple of minutes (thanks to Ellie Medland). The ebay listing was also nice and detailed with good pictures.

These hammer drive screws look good:
http://www.hansonrivet.com/w58.htm
http://www.toolfastdirect.co.uk/acatalog/Brassed_Hammer_Drive_Screws___Type_U_Round_Head.html
From www.bikeforums.net:"I just reattached my headbadge on a 1983 Raleigh Record ..... the right size was 2-56 (i think thats width and thread) 3/16 long."
"I'll be interested to hear if the drive screws can be pushed out from the inside.....To test this I pushed the drive screws out last night on my Bottecchia frame. I used a long screwdriver and they popped out a couple of millimeters and then I could get behind the heads to coax them out the rest of the way. It took no more than a minute or two to get both screws out and the badge off."
"Schwinn used very small round head sheet metal screws for attaching the headbadges of some models, notably the sixties, seventies, and early eighties Paramounts. They were No. 2 x 1/8" Type B sheet metal screws"

Try blue loctite or a new axle/cones.

Just fitted a Rido R2, hope it's as comfortable as they say it is cause it ain't pretty. Started doing weekly 40+ miles weekly rides again and getting some numbness from my flite titanium saddle as having to sit in the saddle more than before till I get fitter/lighter.
Update: Ridden about 5 miles on it so far, feels a bit like riding on the back of a Brooks saddle, all the weight goes on the sit-bones would not call it a comfortable saddle like others do, but no NNS with it. Provides a firm base to apply pedalling power. Would not recommend unless having problems with conventional saddles, don't think I'll be sticking with it for long.

http://www.rido-cyclesaddles.com/sensational-new-r2-c100064.html22 Oct: Ditched the Rido already, have now fitted a WTB Comfort V Sport Saddle 2009, this design works very well for me, will try a more upmarket WTB when this wears out.

I got one for my titanium frame as it has no frame numbers on it, have registered all my bikes on www.immobilise.com (you can download certificate for each bike) so if bikes get nicked and show up can prove they are mine. Have read of people spotting their stolen bikes but being unable to get them back as did not report stolen and unable to prove ownership. Don't see the point of putting the warning sticker that comes with it on the frame, I don't leave the bike in public unwatched and would rather they did not know the tag was there.

Tested Locks article from Cycling Plus, bit out of date but gives an idea of how quickly/easily many locks can be breached:

This one shows how bottle jacks are used:

"There are two distinct aspects to protecting your bike: Documentation, and proper locking technique, and both are essential to proper bicycle security."
http://www.bicyclelaw.com/p.cfm/bicycle-safety/about-bike-theft
My Work Bike Locking Set-up:
Fahg Mini (locks frame and back wheel), Xena Disc alarm, Evo mini (locks front wheel), ball bearings glued into stem bolts and saddle cradle bolt, Kryptoflex Cable 2.5' and Zefal Lockn'Roll Seatpost QR to protect saddle and seatpost.
-
The newer Xena's use a single CR2 lithium battery which should last longer than the 6 button batteries and are a bit louder (120db), but they are more expensive. The XR1 (coping ok in the rain, no cover on bike stand at work) and XBL2-35 (£44.99 off Amazon) I got are still working fine, though had to change batteries on XR1. The XBL2-35 is even more sensitive than the XR1 though can be used without the alarm on and is good value compared to other padlocks that don't have alarms.

Think marking/registering the bikes is a great idea, and make a full police report if bike stolen, this bloke could not prove he was the rightful owner after spotting it.
http://digilander.libero.it/felixpetrelli/bicyclethieves.htm
"Police. When you need them they are never around. I crossed the road, and always keeping an eye on my cycle, called '999'. "Don`t leave the telephone box, we have located you, some officers are on their way." I was happy at the idea of having found my bike. Two bobbies passed by. I explained the situation. I described the bike and when I saw a guy unlocking the bike, the officers crossed the road and stopped the guy.
They questioned him and his answers were enough for them to let him go with my bike. He was a French student who had bought the bike from Brick Lane Market in London for £ 50 two weeks earlier. So they turned to me - "In his limited English we believe he is in good faith." There was no crime and because I hadn
t reported the theft at the time they couldn
t refer to any criminal record either. They could do nothing - it was a civil matter....I contacted Cycle AID - a free cycleline tel. 0800 387815- for advice and Mr. Michaeo Blair, an ex Northen Ireland PC, remarked that here in England investigation is not compulsory and that just to open a civil trial would cost me around £ 80 in a county court, and even then there was no guarantee of winning the case.** He further explained that a photo wasn
t enough to establish the ownership of the bike.** Maybe a frame number could help. So I called the shop where I bought the bike and they said my bicycle didn
t have a frame number because bicycle companies have only recently started to write numbers on bike frames." -

He didn't:
http://forums.mwerks.com/zerothread?id=4584502&postid=60908210
"Well after 13 years with my bike it was stolen from me this morning. I've been getting back into bike lately and thought it would be a good time to upgrade my ride so I bought a new bike and was selling my old one to recoup some of the cost. I had someone come over to take a look at the bike this morning. He seemed legit and what not and we got to talking a bit about bikes. He asked to take it out for a test ride. I told him that I prefer if he'd just go down the street to the stop sign and back. well he never came back... After looking back on it there are some signed that I shoulda seen. Never called me to arrange meeting plans (all done through email) called from a blocked # this morning, and I didn't see his car parked in front or near my house... I"m more pissed that I got taken then actually loosing the bike..."

Looks great, well done. I had the opposite problem had to file (using very fine file) a tiny bit off ti mtb fork before the race would hammer on with a Cyclus Crown Race Fitting Tool and big Engineer's hammer.
