my front light came off today in heavy traffic (I had not clicked it in). It was run by two cars.
but although it was in pieces all over the road and the batteries were flattened, no part of the plastic snapped.
In fact the only broken part is the lens, which I intend to reshape with a hair dryer.
I have taped a gel over the led cube to hold in in place and get home.
Anyway. I know this is a pretty boring testimonial but i was most impressed so thought I'd share.

Thanks man. I was looking at ways to tighten them up but as you'll see there doesn't seem to be much to work with, just some smooth metal rings.

Any tips on where to go to do this sort of work in London? Was thinking probs Tour de Ville / Condor though they'll probably shudder when they catch a glimpse of my pug.

I've been riding a peugeot carbolite from 85-88. Mostly original parts, including the weinmann levers w/ suicide levers, calipers and drops. I'm not loving their performance. Suicide levers make braking while upright not very responsive, and I don't want to be in a sprinting position the whole time. Final straw was yesterday when I came off as a tourist stepped into the road on oxford street. The bike flipped up and knocked one of the levers, leaving it no longer firmly connected to the drops (I can now move it side to side, up and down).
Basically I'd like to swap out the braking system. Anyone have any experience of fitting modern calipers and levers on one of these old bikes?

I need a new saddle for my bike. It's a Peugeot, like this one (this photo is not my bike), dark grey with orange / yellow / white details:

Was thinking to get Spoon, Flite Gel Flow, Spec Toupe as they tend to get pretty good press and I've limited saddle experience.
Yellow or grey would be excellent.
I live in London. -
Must have been a shit mtb that ran Schraders...
yeah it was okay, one of the hard-tail red bull set-ups from roseversand.de from a few years ago

it's actually pretty common for mtb to use schraders though.

Hellos. apologies if this will be considered off topic. just searched for some sort of valve discussion.
Q: I have a sks track pump at home, schraeder (sp?) attachment but with a presta adapter. you know the ones. http://bit.ly/m3h6F
The problem is that when i try to inflate using the adapter, the pokey middle bit that it meant to push down the valve head to allow me to pump air in when i push the thumb lock down, is not long enough to reach through the adapter to push down the valve head.
I have found one presta innertube so far that it works with, and that just has a really short valve. But I don't really want to have to replace all my inners jjst to use my pump.
Advice would be appreciated. Ridicule is thoroughly expected.

My old Blackburn finally expired after 12 years, so I just picked up a little Topeak. Seems to do the job pretty well, rated to 160psi though I doubt I could get anywhere near that close without breaking my arm as it's tiny.
Dude your blackburn should have a lifetime warranty. Time to cash that badboy in.
I just got an AirStik SL and it's banging.
