Up for sale is my Peugeot Vitus (979) Fibre De Carbone Bike.
I only use this frame on the Turbo now and it is a crying shame to do that, so I am knocking up a specific turbo bike.
The bike is fully serviced and runs beautifully.
Collection only or delivery at £1/Mile (Payment up front though), I will not post under any circumstances, so please don't ask.
I will take PayPal as a gift, but would prefer cash on collection.
Measurements are: -
Seat Tube 55cm C-C 56.5 C-T
Top Tube C-C 55cmThis was the exact model that Sean Kelly won the Tour De France on in the late 80's, it is very light and exceptionally strong.
The frame has carbon tubes, with aluminium lugs , chain stays and forks.
Apart from a little peeling and chips on the transfers, the frame is in excellent condition. The Carbon is perfect as is the Aluminium, no corrosion.
I am not looking to split.
The spec of the equipment is as follows: -
Campagnolo Chorus Chainset (Inner ring is Stronglight)
Campagnolo Seat Pin
Campagnolo Euros 20 Clincher 700c wheels, beautifully smooth and very true
Campagnolo Athena Brakes
Campagnolo Levers, not sure of the model, but presume either Chorus or Athena, please note the locking pin on the left hand lever is missing (This is used to slacken the cable for wheel removal), easily sorted by contacting one of the many Campag Vintage suppliers like Mercian Cycles in Derby.
Campagnolo Front and Rear Mechs, No markings on these, but am fairly certain they are Chorus 8speed.
Campagnolo 23/12 Cassette
The levers have been changed from the photo and are now Campag Record.
San Marco Rolls Leather Saddle
Cinelli Bars and Stem
Spidel HeadsetNB The pedal, computer, saddle bag are not included, tyres are now Michelin 20c, not sure of model.
Points to Note
There is the odd flaking transfer.
Couple of chips to transfers
Odd Marks on rear rims from tyre removals
Locking Pin on Left Brake lever missingThe frame alone is worth over £350 and the wheels about £200, that is without the groupset etc.
I'm looking for £595 ovno. (As my first sale on here will donate £25 if I get the right price to LFGSS)

Many post offices are open until 17:30, they are also open on Saturday mornings, you have lunchtimes as well.
You took his money quick enough.
If you want to trade on the Internet then you need to be prepared to be named and shamed.
Did you advise in your advert that you would take over a month to send it...no, thought not.
Sorry but you are taking the piss.

SNAP! :-)
The frame is actually made by Vitus, the Vitus frame badged by Peugeot was used by Sean Kelly in the Mid 80's Tour de France.
I was given mine about 6 years ago and used it to start and get myself back to fitness.
Super light, but too good to use as a Winter Bike, so I have set mine up on the Turbo.
Haven't got a true idea of Value, mines Campag Chorus/Athena throughout with Eunos Wheels.
I'd think before selling as the Yanks absolutely cream themselves over these Vitus frames.

I posted elsewhere but wondered if anyone can help.
In the early 70's I used to race at Herne Hill and Crystal Palace.
At the time I had some rather nice Columbus GB Framed Bikes.
I'd rather like to build a couple of bikes up with these frames and wondered if anyone has a Track, Road or Time Trial Frame in 54-56cm sizing.
Not too worried about the paint as my intention would be to get it resprayed/powder coated.
I don't have a lot of dosh, but if anyone can help, then it would be greatly appreciated.
I now for my sins live near Wolverhampton, but can arrange collection from most places in the UK.
I can be contacted at john at karaszy-kulin dot co dot uk
or Call me on 01902-790797
Many Thanks.

Oct 2008.. AND "gentlemen, thank you kindly for all of the interest, but the bike has found a home."
Can't the kiddies read these days?
Probably older than You! :-)
I was just trying on the off chance that you might know of one and to get myself out of the Nursery Area :-)
I used to race at Herne Hill and Crystal Palace on these Frames and have been looking for months since starting back up again, but thought I'd sign up here as there appears to have been a few on here for sale.
Sorry if I have wasted your time.
