Black.
Complete except base plate which would only be destroyed if I took it off the forks, so I have kept it on the forks. (includes white scuff washer).
Mechanically 10/10. It's a King, so super smooth. Cosmetically there is a mark on the top and bottom bearing cups where a cable has rubbed over time, so probably a 7/10. Rotate it carefully on installation and this will be invisible though.
£40 posted.
I have a brand spanking new unfitted Titanium Base Plate that I could sell for £10 (cheaper than a new alloy version).

I think they have been away at Eurobike, hence uncontactable by phone. You are right, they never reply to emails, but they are perhaps the most knowledgeable, helpful and customer friendly shop you will come across by phone. Not the cheapest, but delivery is prompt and warranty service is first rate. A downside to their service is that the phone can often be engaged, but it is well worth persevering.

I am using Phil woods with a White Industries Freewheel. Combined with a frame with mudguard clearances I actually needed the 115mm not the 110.5. The 110.5mm version that is recommended for the Record Pista put the chainset too far inboard and the chainline was a bit noisy, and too close to the chain stays, even when I adjusted the bb as far over as I dare. A shame, but my loss os somebody else's gain.

Such a shame what happened to the brand. We need some visionary at Trek who is happy with Trek and Fisher and Bontrager to occupy the mass market to resurrect Klein as a true artisan high end brand. They were THE bike to own I must admit I sill lust after one even now. They still look current and were ahead of their time, so everything else has now nearly caught up. PS - any decent Kleins for sale?

Schoolboy error! I was sure I had typed it in the title. Thanks for letting me know.
It's a 57cm with a very slightly sloping top tube. Fits me like a glove at 6ft 1, but obviously would have a bit of range either way.
