His advice is:
"What grit of hone to start on depends on how much the bevel needs to be worked.
the gist of it is:
1000 grit: complete bevel rebuild
4000 grit: will remove some steel, but slowly
8000+ grit: polishingUsing a pasted strop with a straight razor.
Pasted strops are used to polish the bevel of a razor and don't actually remove steel like hones do. They can certainly and easily help make a razor super sharp, but will never remove nicks or blunting."

Yeah I did some research and found some nice video tutorials. I do have a leather strop, but they are used to help retain the sharpness. My cut throat blade is past that and needs proper sharpening with the right tool.
Looking at all this I think I need at least a 10,000 grit waterstone.
Thanks for the input you lot.
Inky I'll check out Trumpers whatever that is. :P

Been meaning to get my christmas present sharpened, but obviously never got around to it. Did a bit of research on here for previous posts but found nothing.
Anyone here sharpen their own blades or know of any drop in services around London?
Will pay you a pretty penny.I did buy a Honing brick a while back but realised it's only good for sharpening crappy scissors and such.
Proper honing bricks are expensive...

God only knows how these hipsters on super narrow bars ride around town. Must be quite uncomfortable.
It's pretty much the same as, why do women put themselves through pain wearing shoes that will mash up their feet. By trying to be a Hipster cyclist, you're doing the same thing.
Conclusion, pain = look good.
What you said prior, I agree entirely. For me Bars are most comfortable when they are roughly the same width as your shoulers.

That's a shame, I just got rid of a load of bits and bobs to be collected by the council.
I do however have a BMX that needs a tad bit of work, it's in very good condition. From what I remember it just needs a new chain, and some brakes. I'll post a pic soon.
Velocio you want?
EDIT: Oh, this is from 2008... lol. Anyway, still want?

Leicester Square today, not the most nickable bike but certainly one of the shitest locks I've seen.
That chain is so shite I could leave a pet Hamster there to do the dirty work to knaw through it. Perfect crime.

This is fucking hilarious:
YouTube- Justin Bieber almost gets trampled-Glendale AZ July 25, 2010
I'd rather be chased by a horde of zombies. Least you're ear drums will be okay. The screaming alone will get you killed from making you panick and confusing your head which way to look.
Pipe bomb is the only way Biebers gonna get out of that.
Teach him for not sticking with his team mates.must stop playing left 4 dead
HAHAHA!

I have this chronically, its not fun. NHS are to incompetent to diagnose & repair it. Ive been going round in circles for years now.
What happened with you?
When I went to the Hospital (Homerton), the surgeon said to me that I won't need any key-hole surgery if you don't mind living the rest of your life with the distinct lump, aparantly this injury happens a lot in sports and pretty much everyone makes a full recovery. However he did say, by not having it corrected early on there is a very small chance you will have problems with it. I decided to just let it heal and live with the lump which I don't mind. Thankfully I don't think I'll have any long term complications.
However, he did say if I did need surgery it would be a much bigger procedure because it's already healed. Meaning a huge scar running along the clavical. Doesn't sound like there would be any complications with me getting that treatment if needed.
So why are you having so much trouble getting yours sorted?

right then new bit of fail:
me, today
walking down the street with the girlfriend, wearing jeans that are not able to hold my keys within the pockets, so keys are clipped to belt loop,
girlfriend hears jangling and turns to me to ask:
"did you want me to put your keys in my handbag or is it a fixie thing?"
failhahaha!!!

I extremely dislike how animals are treated like this and wish that the world would wake up and see that if animals are going to be food consider it's a being with emotion and pain, and execute the animal with little suffer and trauma as possible.
I like to think that I could go Vegetarian, and maybe someday I will, but I like meat too much. I only really eat Poultry and some Pork, but only will eat anything else if it's cooked for me. I'm not too keen on tough meat such as Beef.
Did anyone watch Kill it, Cook it, Eat it? I think that's what it was called...
Someone said to me, "If you're not prepared to kill it, you shouldn't eat it". Which I strongly agree.

Is there permanent rotator cuff damage then?
Well, permanently I have a distinct lump because of my shoulder is now an inch or so from my clavical, making my right arm a bit longer than the other. I've got full rotational movement, but I do occassionally get a little discomfort sometimes, a little sharp pain and some acheyness. Sleeping on my right side can sometimes cause an uncomfortable morning for a little while, I try not to sleep on it but I just tend to go on that side sometimes in my sleep. I've been advised to not carry anything too heavy for a while, but try and do excercises often to build up some muscle around that area to give more support. I reckon in about another 3-6 months I shouldn't feel any discomfort anymore. My strength has decreased a little but not to worry, I'll soon build that up again.
Since the accident I feel so unfit, lost a bit of muscle mass, ended up putting on weight but thankfully went back down again due to eating good. I've barely cycled and it's a bit depressing. Some family and my Lady are adimant that I get a helmet if I ever want to cycle again. Which I find a bit annoying but understandable of course. But I try and tell them that by study, drivers go past closer to cyclists because of helmets, and also pretty much majority of fatalities and serious injuries are to do with reckless and thoughtless cycling, such as going on the inside of HGV. Obviously if you fall off yer bike and land on yer head could equal to something bad... I rarely see anyone with helmets on so maybe by seeing that you subconciously don't think or want to wear a helmet.
What's everyones thoughts on wearing a helmet? Personally I would love to roll around with one of these on my head. Though not much padding you'd crack your skull if anything and turn your brain to mush. Aha. (not something to really laugh about is it?)
Man that's so cool.
