Original Brooks B17 Competition leather saddle
In reasonable used condition, date stamped B/76
I bought this from Jocky Allan cycles in Leith in his January sale 1977 and rode it on my Claud Butler track bike for a couple of years.
It has a few minor grazes on the saddle but nothing too serious, and they add to the character of this 34 year old saddle. The saddle measures 280mm in length by 150mm wide.
Comfortable and unique, this will mould to your posterior and give you a comfortable ride you will enjoy !
Ideal for a period vintage restoration.

Asking for £40 BEFORE the 10th of September at 9pm

As you say 27 x 1/14" wheels are a bit bigger than 700C wheels.
It could be more complicated than that !
27" Tyres are hard to get now and 700C tyres won't fit on the rim properly ( at least that's my experience with Conti ultra gaitors)
If you are using a free wheel rather than a cassette type cluster of rear cogs there will be the issue of OLN ( over lock nut) rear wheel dimensions as there may be a 7 or 8mm difference there.
The other issue is if the brake calipers will allow enough adjustment to place the brake blocks properly on the rim braking surface.
Having tried this twice now and wishing I had not , my advice would be get a 700c wheel if you can. It could cost you around £20 to £25 and will save you a lot of grief.
However try it in the frame and see, it may just work !

I was looking through the spare room earlier and came across an old Claude Butler road frame and forks in Reynolds 531 frame tubing.
It's a B I G frame with a 25" centre to centre seat tube and 23" ctc top tube.
It has the original champagne paint finish which is quite tatty, but the frame has no dents or structural defects that I can see.It has a front lamp boss on the right fork blade, three cable guides on the top tube, Pump pegs on the seat tube. rear ends are spaced to 126mm rear and front to 100mm .
The original design would have been for 27 x 1 1/4" wheels but modern 700C with a 23mm tyre give 32 front and 36 mm rear clearance to the frame from the tyre.
The frame has long sloping road ends and would be suitable for a fixed gear conversion.
You can have a look at it here :

I have no idea how much this is worth as it is a bit out of my sphere of competency so I am open to the best offer ( of cash ! ) by Saturday lunchtime.
I can deliver in Edinburgh and if the offer is good enough post in the UK for £ 12.

This frame does have some very slight paint chips on the right hand chain stay as do most track frames, these are superficial and cosmetic.
One careful owner from new and it has been kept at home rather than at the velodrome !
If you need some help sourcing components, please ask as the "parts bin " has quite a lot of kit in it at the moment.
A complete build is a possibility depending on how fussy you are !
£200 - collected or + £ 15 posted in the UK
That’s a saving of £100 on the price of a new one, and this is as good as new almost !

"Runabout" trackbike for sale
I am reluctantly selling my old 21 1/2" blue track frame. Keeping the yellow one 1
It was built by Martrac in the early eighties as a general purpose track bike for use on board tracks but with enough clearance to ride grass track with 25mm knobbly tubulars ( Clement Grifo's )
Since then I have had some more track frames but have always been reluctant to sell this one as it rides so well . It has been used as a loan bike for our kids club for a few years up to 2005.
After that it has been used as a loan out bike to get riders to improve their cadence speed. Must have worked since a few of these riders have gone on to Commonwealth games and medals.
It's got old but sound equipment on it so you can have the frame for £ 120 or the whole bike for £200 collected + £15 posted in UK
It looks like this :

That's a nice Cinelli bike at a good price.
One of our girls will be selling her one in mid September to part fund a new bike for October.
Is there much demand for the same frame in the smaller sizes ?

Sadly,
I feel like I am doing community service at our velodrome already !
If only the wind would drop and it stayed dry more often I would enjoy it more.
The next frame in the bike reshuffle has been identified but won't be available until the replacement has arrived.

**Dolan Pursuit Champion track frame 52cm **
The end of season "Musical bikes"upgrade and exchange has seen some top quality track frames from the City of Edinburgh Racing Club now surplus to requirements.
The first of these is this Dolan Pursuit Champion track frame,
Frame size is a nominal 52cm in Matt black finish .
I can't quite get the images to come up on the thread but there are some pictures here:
http://picasaweb.google.com/trackkitforsale/DolanPursuitChampionTrackFrame52cmMattBlackKA#
Size 52cm - this was the only size Dolan made in these frames.
Alpina wing TT Carbon fibre track fork not drilled for a brake ( yet !)
Alpina headset with top cap and spacers (10mm x 3)
Alpina wing seatpost (tear drop style to fit the Dolan teardrop seat tube - this is tightened using 2 x seat bolts for security whilst in the low tuck position with tribars.
Track dropouts. nice detailing with stainless steel replaceable inserts
The BB has a teardrop style cut out to the rear of the bracket to improve the rear end rigidity.
Frame does have some paint chips as do most track frames that have traveled a bit, but nothing too serious, just cosmetic.
If you need some help sourcing components, please ask as the "parts bin " has quite a lot of kit in it at the moment.
A complete build is a possibility depending on how fussy you are !

I have a couple of Campagnolo 151 BCD Chainsets, I probably think it's better for me to sell them as a complete set of 165mm cranks, Italian or English Pista bracket set, 2 rings 23 & 24, cogs 7 and 9 T, chain and possibly pedals .
Looking at somewhere in the region of £ 550 for the inch pitch kit and not sure what for the standard 165mm 151 BCD cranks, bracket set, 50T 1/8th ring
I know that sounds a lot but you will never ever get another chance to get all this kit in such good condition at the one time.
I had it on my Pinarello a couple of weeks ago and while it did not look right with the disc wheels , it sounded fantastic !

Thanks for the interest,
It's good to see this board has folk with such a good sense of humour.....
however I am trying to clear space in the house not swap my "priceless treasures" for your junk !
I have a wife and small child to make space for....
( I can't think of a use for a aluminium disk wheel with a stripped hub.... sorry )
So I am STILL open to the best offer ( of cash ! ) by Saturday lunchtime.
