**Thanks for the info,
I just read the heading "[B]Spoke tension after truing my first set of wheels" and wondered if you were using one of the DT **tensiometers which are very expensive here in UK and it seemed like a bit of a unusual tool to have for some one not doing a lot of wheels.
I have been thinking of getting one but was not sure what it would add to my building, the Park one is much more affordable though !

The spare room clear out continues !
I have a pair of Mavic CXP 14 Silver Clincher rims in 28 hole drilling .
These are a 30mm V section clincher rim that have been taken off a pair of road wheels that have been lightly used. I have just gently unscrewed all the spokes one at a time to make sure that the rims stay true.
All the rim inserts are in place and come with 56 long nipples to fit the rims.
They have no dents or bashes or gash marks, they do have a bit of brake wear but I think they will clean up well with a scotch brite pad if you are not going to use a brake on them.
I am in Edinburgh and can post them in the UK for £6
Asking £ £15 each or 25 for the pair.

If you get stuck, and there is no one locally or your LBS won't do it, I have a couple of these you can have a loan of, no point buying one as they are about £40 for a Park one.
This offer only stands if you are using it on alloy cranks !
I am in Edinburgh, but very good at posting things.

I use a lot of these and Campag BB's with loose balls on our track bikes. The better the quality of the cups and axle the more sensitive they are to the quality of the balls.
Skimping on the balls and not greasing the bracket properly and riding in the rain will trash a sugino BB in no time !
Grade 10 ( best ) AISI 52100 chrome steel balls are cheap ( £4 for 20 ) from the specialist bearing suppliers and really do make a difference.
A new Sugino BB set is over £65 why risk trashing it for £ 4 worth of balls a a blob of good grease......
PM me is you can't get the balls and I will send you some.
regards Allister

More views of the pedals here:
https://picasaweb.google.com/trackkitforsale/CampagnoloGrandSportQuillPedals#
The picture in the forum post is the nicest, the rest show how grubby the pedalas really are :-(
-
You are correct, they have what looks like a wooden insole and a leather outer sole.
I think the stripes on the sole are tape I stuck on to stop the leather getting scraped , it's a long time ago !
As requested here are some pictures of the pedals clips and straps:
I miscalculated the postage when I put the ad up last night, the box is 1.6kg and will be £ 6.67 posted in the UK .

goreggiego has " undibed" .... is that the correct term ?
Shoes and pedals still available .

Clearing out the spare room has turned up my SIDI leather cycling shoes from the early 80's.
These really are "old School "now :-(
These were only ever used on the track and have never been wet, lovely soft uppers and stiff sole with wooden insole ( no carbon fiber here ! )
Titanium and plastic shoeplate suitable for standard quill pedals clips and straps
They are marked size 43 on the sole but a neat fit 8 1/2 would be about right.
In great condition as you can see from the pictures.
I am going to throw in a pair of Campagnolo gran sport Quill road pedals, christophe clips and straps to get you started. ( Pictures may follow on request )
Asking £ 40 and £ 4 postage in the UK .
PM me if you want more information .

Just my limited experience.....
High path did a fantastic job on a set of Campag tandem cranks that a mechanical incompetent had some how managed to screw the wrong pedal in to stripping the threads.
They used a helicoil type insert, still going strong after a good few years.
Tried the metal filler in cheap Miche cranks with little success as it just cracks and the pedal comes loose again.
Tried putting it in with a syringe to super clean axle and crank threads as well as building it up and tapping it out over three applications with two days to harden between layers.
Both methods, same results :-(
When you consider the consequences of a pedal coming off a crank whilst riding or even worse the crank breaking suddenly , then a new crank looks cheap !
Perhaps a mechanical engineer can work out the force on a pedal axle where it screws in to the crank, I know when I watch our riders doing standing starts from behind you can see the leading pedal end drop past horizontal as it twists the crank during the first 1/4 pedal rev....
It's a shame when classic kit gets broken though ....
