It’s my general runabout / winter bike / commuter when I am not on the Brompton.
Frame is an older Surly Disc Trucker, with a more recent through-axle fork. GRX 1x11, Portland Design guards, which have since had longer mudflaps added, and the Gravel Kings have been replaced by Pirelli Cinturatos, tubeless. SON dynamo. Borg wheelset.
It’s a great bike but I’ll admit to keeping an eye on the sales forum with a view to putting the whole lot on a lighter frame and fork.
Saddle is now horizontal and bars a tad lower - this was shortly after I put it together.

And we had Gove on earlier saying what a wonderful PM Johnson was and how great it would be to have him back. The same Gove that only a while back was in the press saying Johnson just wasn’t up to the job. There are already cunts talking about what job Zahawi can have next.
On another note, it’s all gone very quiet re Michelle Mone lately, in the press.

micro tube, not sure at the moment - where did you use yours?
I used mine in a different sort of set up to yours, no rack. Ran wire up the back of the seat tube and used the hose to protect it thinking I might not always have mudguards on. On the down tube I heat shrunk the wire itself along the brake hose. The hose is fairly flexible and would work well clipped inside a mudguard.

From front light to bike, you can do this to create a coil to allow for movement, tends to stay in shape fairly well:

You can get coloured zip ties so you’d be able to get something less conspicuous than plain black for the down tube, as in some bits of this:
http://lovelybike.blogspot.com/2011/11/aftermarket-dynamo-lights-clean-look.html
Heat shrink along the gear cable down to the BB would be neat, as mentioned.
As for the mudguard, SKS do a kit for this but of course there is no way of knowing if the clips will work on your guards, and you don’t need the wire, but it shows that they think some kind of protection is a good idea inside the guard:

I used this stuff for part of my dynamo wire run - wire just about pulled through it with a bit of soapy water:

GideonPARANOID looks to be closer to your size so probably a better guide, but IMO you’d need an L for the length.
I dithered between 3 season and winter too but went for the former as I’ll be able to use them on more occasions than full winters, I reckon. If need be (like yesterday for instance) I use my Lusso leg warmers underneath, works really well.

Thanks @pifko, I have cargo bibs and your suggestions could work: I suppose part of the problem is that with my usual phone, I need to unlock it, then open the camera app, then take a photo. If I had a cheapo phone set up with some sort of shortcut and no lock that might suffice.
@MTB-Idle, those images are excellent, more than good enough for what I am hoping for, shall explore further - cheers!

It’s not that the Chilli cams are that bad (they are good enough for a passing car’s number plate in not-great light), it’s just that trying them out made me realise they don’t do what I really want.
What I’d like is something that takes a good quality still of the view ahead on those occasions when I’d like a photo but I’m not in a position to take out my phone. More for on-the-move scenic shots, especially for gravel rides, when I am too preoccupied with keeping up or staying upright to contemplate having the phone in one hand. A remote (or at least easily accessible) button would be essential .

I have the 3 Season pocket bibs. I’m 1.84m ish and 81kg. Take a 34 waist in jeans, 33 or 34 leg, if any of that helps. I went for L and they are spot on. I think you would get away with an L even though you are a bit taller: the straps would allow a bit more height than I have, and an XL would be a bit baggy for you I suspect.
Excellent bibs overall.

Yes, I am in there regularly, including this morning about 0800, and it was gritted and ice free all round including the road past the ballet school and the traffic free bit to Ham Gate Ave.
The only possibly dodgy bit I saw, for ice, was the roundabout at Roehampton Gate. I’d say the approach towards the gate along Priory Lane from Danbury needs watching too.
I would still be taking it easier than normal on Dark Hill and Broomfield Hill though - while it is ice free, there are wet stretches that are a bit greasy due, I think, to the accumulated grit or salt or urea or whatever it is they use.
All the ponds are frozen and the Tamsin trail is as hard as rock.

Hi Pifko.
I had the cam under my out-front mount. Wahoo on top, this underneath - sorry for the rubbish quick photo. I use a non-Wahoo out front mount and it was very solid with the cam in place.
This is the adapter required:

Edited to add: these cams are now taken

Some of you may have read this yesterday:

The “Inescapable Truth” report within the article is a tough read.

All the best to you @sbbohr
Just musing about a dynamo set-up. Does an Edelux II work with Brompton bags, i.e. is there enough clearance above the light?

Anyone want a pair of Chilli bullet cams for £40? Will throw in 1x 32GB SD card, and one of these clamps:
https://www.chilli-tech.com/action-camera-accessories?product_id=166
One cam has never been used, the other has been tried a couple of times.
All original packaging and bits and bobs are present. Purchased around July last year. -

On the way home I could see intense strobe reflections on bits of my bike and signs etc coming from someone I thought was right behind me. After a (short) while this got on my tits and thought to myself, “Why the fuck don’t they just get the fuck past me”.
After a while I looked round and they were about 200m back, searingly bright even at that distance and that’s with street and shop lights around.
Really sorry to read this has happened to you, Hoke. Good on those in the car and van for intervening. Look after yourself, I am sure the shock will take time to pass.
