Buenos Dias,
The shiny parts for my new wheel build have arrived, but I don't have a truing stand.
I'd rather borrow than buy as I won't need it too often, so any chance someone could lend me one over the weekend? (I can pay beer).I also need an MKS chain tug or similar if you've got one lying around.
Muchas gracias.

Hey, watch your lip. Behringer are great; quality German engineering at an affordable price. Just like Lidl.
You build up a rare? Ooo.
ended up getting a rare built up - still sort of looking for a front.
dunno about bontrager, i dunno why but mentally i always associate it with behringer (poor mans pioneer) and bontrager as a poor mans campag.

So, I forgot my SIA license today. When I turned up to work, I was swiftly informed by my superviser that as a security officer, if I get caught working without my license I face a rather crippling five figure fine, and if I'm not back on duty with my license by 9am he will file for disaplinary action (he's a cunt).
So I sprinted the 7 miles back home, in rush hour, picked up my license, sprinted all the way back again, no problems at all. When pulling into the car park of my building, you have to go through two large (very heavy) metal gates. They are normally left ajar so I can just nip through the gap without opening them.
Feeling rather satisfied at my succesfully speedy navigation of London (I don't normally cycle in rush hour), I then proceeded to forget about the CrAzY toe overlap of my new frame, and cycled straight into one of the big gates, which didn't budge an inch (they FUCKING heavy).
I am now missing a chunk of my finger.
I also ripped a hole in my new bar tape which I painstakingly applied last night. And my superviser (also a cyclist) just happened to be watching that exact camera at that exact moment on CCTV.
He then insisted that we watch it back in super-slow motion and explain to him just how I managed to do that. Fuck me sideways. -

I feel horrifically silly asking this.
I was just rotafixing the shit out of a new sprocket onto my On-One hub, and while I was pulling it clicked loudly, which I thought was just the chain settling down on top of itself under the pressure.
Then when I took it out of the frame I noticed the axel was grinding very strongly when the wheel is turned.
It feels like very, very rough bearings.
I'm wondering if it was like this before and I just didn't notice until I'd taken it out of frame.
Any idea what's happened? The hub is less than 6 months old. I can't see it being very easy to fuck up the axel/bearings from rotafixing.
Seriously not gunna be happy if I have to buy a new hub. -

Have you definitely got the right size wheel in Wes?!
Pretty certain. This is the clearance with a 700c.
I think it's just extremely tight geometry, no?
I just rode it down to my LBS to borrow some headset spanners, and he mentioned as well that the clearance between front wheel and down tube shouldn't be that tight.
But then he didn't know what 531 was, so lord knows. -

The Orrell from eBay very quickly built up. The beater has been temporarily sacrificed while I source some new components. Nitto drops, Brooks Swift saddle and Phil hubs on silver Mavic CXP 33's are my thoughts so far. Also I've got some Ofmega Mistrel cranks which are stunning.
I'm going to get it re-painted, but I can't decided on a colour. I was thinking possibly black gloss, with gumwalls.
Or my other choice was metallic blue. I made a quick mock up from a GT I found on Flickr to show this one (ignore the drivetrain - couldn't be bothered to photoshop that). In the photos, the frame already looks this colour; it's not. It's baby blue. Bleugh.
Opinions?

It's mine! Pahahaha. I'm bloody excited. 'fraid I'm gunna have to get it re sprayed again though. It's a bit too gorgeous.
57cm Steve Goff resprayed Neil Orrell baby blue track frame:
Q~~_12.JPG)If I didn't already have one and a 57cm wasn't way too big I'd be all over that.

Now I would love some advice/recommendations on how to turn this frame into a fixie for riding around the flats of central London. Cheap as possible.
Everyone always says this. That's what I tried to do with my first conversion.
It took me about a month to get bored of the rusty old steed and develop my appreciation for shiney things.
My bank balance has never been the same since. -
Worth hitting a car for.
No kiss of life resulted though :( I'll have to hit it harder next time.
