Careful with the nut tightening. And don't buy cheap nuts. I got some new ones from VeloSolo, and the washer crushed into a pancake, thus loosing its ability to wash and promptly creating a nice little bevel in my dropouts. Great.
And the fucker still slipped. I didn't think that was possible with the nut firmly embedded in my frame, but my chain was definitely drooping after a few days.I'm onto chain tugs now. Don't know if it'll solve it completely, but should help.
SJS do a cheap MKS alternative.

Me, pulling in front, then couldn't get my cleat out ... wobble wobble ... CLONK!
Must've clipped a guy standing in front of me with my front wheel while going down.
The result was ... wobble wobble ... CLONK!wish someone would have laughed loudly at least.
If it's any consolation, I probably would have laughed loudly!

I think I can create an anser to your problems Jack http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Create-Urban-Bike-Brand-New_W0QQitemZ300406749253QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Bikes_GL?hash=item45f1a33845#ht_511wt_1167
Ha! I see what you did there. Good job old chap, good job.
Seriously though, split and sell individually if you want to make your money back. You get much better return this way.

Frame AND forks are £250 new. The frame isn't in a very sellable condition with no 'D' or 'N'. That's a problem that you should have considered when removing the decals. And why is it drilled for bottle cages?
It doesn't matter how much you've spent, you're not going to get £400 for it on here. If you want to sell it whole, you'll need to lower your price. I'm not trying to be bitchy, just letting you know.
I think you'd be better off splitting it up and selling separately. You've got interest in this already. You'd probably make more this way than selling it whole.

No brakes,
chain snaps,
shove foot in rear wheel.
I stopped much faster than i thought it would've taken, and the only sacrifice made was the shoe.If your correctly maintained chain snaps, you fall off, fact. In fact, you eat the road before you even know its happened.
Rosmal would suggest otherwise.
And what about snapping while resisting the pedals? You'd just fall back into the saddle.

Also, not wanting to fuel the brakeless/braked debate, but I had a 4x4 turn right across me last year. No indicating, or tell tale slowing down and moving across the lane. They just TURNED and were suddenly about to run me over. I was doing about 25mph and had a brake, and it saved me from having a very bad day. No amount of 'skill' or reading the road could have seen it coming.
Turns out it was a women, in a Range Rover, on her phone, with kids in the back. How stereotypical.

I did my first session at HH yesterday
Hey, Nick, isn't it? You were hammering it last week!
I'm in the same boat, first time last week and I'd like to move up to intermediates, but I'll probably stick with beginners for a few sessions.
What's the best way to learn the ropes? Should we explain we'd like to gain the experience to move up, and start quizzing the instructors? The beginners last week was fairly basic in terms of tactics/etiquette.

The desire is to increase cyclist safety and therefore cyclist numbers, therefore cyclist safety....you get the idea, it is self perpetuating to a degree. Licencing is not the answer.
I understand this, but at the moment there is not a large enough number of cyclists in London to warrant any significant safety benefits, as it does in say, Copenhagen.
I also think that because we are sharing the same space, the cyclist/vehicle interaction at the moment is awkward and conflicting, partly because a large number of cyclists are not aware of how to properly ride within it. Without addressing this, I can't see how adding yet more cyclists to the equation is going to make things any safer. Unless of course we can reach the point where there are so many of us, cyclists are considered an equal presence on the road.
Nope.
Oh well, it's a bit late now anyway. What normally happens in weather like this? Do people still turn up?
Will probably head down to richmond park if anyone wants to join?
