Bike started steering a bit funny on the way home, possibly just after disconnecting my head on one of several thousand potholes on my way. Didn't bother investigating this until after my hungover ride to work (& back) and this is what I discovered
I guess this is the bike equivalent of a beer injury.
Off to the classifieds for me then.

Only just home as had to stop for some dodgy chicken cos some pretty girlie was carrying a pile of newspapers to use as a seat. I simply had to join her on half of the original pile.
Great to meet everyone and this should be at least a quarterly event with a death TT of 4 laps of soho sq broken by a pint of the G and then 4 more laps with a skid finish at the toucan (road closures permitting). This sounded great outside the angelic but looks pretty wank in print.
Apologies, drunk.

Just seen mmcarthy's ride at norths. If he beats anyone to the Toucan, we all owe him a pint!
Oh and for anyone who spots him, definitely shout 'do a skid' as the noise is friggin awesome from the coaster brake.
Gonna head straight to the pub to meet BJB so will do timekeeping honours also if required.
Cheers!! (in anticipation)

I work for XXXXXXX responsible for the enforcement of vehicle road safety both in the mechanical sense and also drivers. One of our activities is carrying out accident investigations where a HGV is involved looking at the roadworthiness of the vehicle prior to the incident. Unfortunately I'm not available for next weeks meeting but if you need any information to do with HGV road safety standards and also driver responsibility please pm me and I'll get you everything I can.
Drivers blind spots have been a hot topic of late within the DfT up to the point where we were handing out fresnel lenses to foreign left hand drive HGV's at major ports in order to reduce the incidents of sideswiping by these vehicles on the roads. For UK HGV's, the legislation regarding wide angle and close proximity mirrors changed this year so that the drivers view of the immediate area around the cab had to be increased by the fitment of extra mirrors in some cases. If the cause of most of these incidents, partially or wholly, lies with the vehicle construction then the DfT are the people to lobby.
Sorry this was a long one, I just wanted to get some info across as I'm nowhere near a puter or the interweb next week.

If you look on the Guinness ride thread you will see the state of my forks after it. No idea what happened but now I'm in need of some new chrome forks for my lovely bike. They are lugless 1" threaded forks with approx 40mm rake (hard to tell precisely now), the steerer length is 135mm and I'd prefer a brake drilling but can arrange one if not.
I've bought a shocking black set off ebay for under a tenner to get by but I want to get the bike back to looking lovely so any help will be greatly apreciated.
Thanks in advance.
