this has been talked about before, if you'd searched. i was thinking about it for polo (about 2 years back i think) but apparently there is quite a bit of play in the hub. superTed at fgl had one for a bit a long while back. an interesting project, give it a go. ... or wait to see if the rumored SA 3-speed fixed hub will be re-released...
http://www.londonfgss.com/thread3740.html That ws the thread but I was wndring if nyone had done it since.
Do you still have the 700c wheels with the hub?

Hello,
I was thinking of building a fixed sturmey archer hub as copied from Sheldon Brown (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/awfixed.html)
Was wondering if anyone had experieencce of doing it? Or know anyone that has?
PS Didn't know if here or the mechanics section were better for this sort of post

I locked my bike to a busy bike stand on a quiet street in North London the other day and sat across the road outside a cafe having a cup of tea. There were lots of new ridgebacks etc locked there too, some with extremely shit locks, and a few old geared Raleighs. Plus one Langster. As I was reading my book, I saw a couple of kids on mountain bikes turn up to the stand. They examined all the bikes, took phone pictures of my bike (a rusty old track frame) and the shiny Langster, and then sent some text messages. they then sat there, waiting patiently. I guess the 'scout' system means that the people they're texting can then turn up with the right toolage for that particular lock. If they want your bike, they want it.
I finished my tea and went and got my bike. They called me a 'mug' and pulled an imaginary trigger at me :(
They do the same with motorbikes

Yes I've seen the armourex thread but was looking for a cheaper alternative for powder coating. I've heard stories of £10-£15 for frames and forks.
The guy that I used to use for car and bike bits has recently died so now need to find someone else between Brighton London and Coventry.
What do I do about the threads in the in the BB and things like the headset
Thanks
(Or should I just rattle can matt black it)

Well have a set of brand new 3T handlebars (dropbars) still in the packet. Model t3er3
The width is 44cm and a diameter of 25.8mm.
I bought them for my road bike but never fitted them as it has a quill stem and chrome bars would suit it better than black.
£20 collected from Londonplease click on them for a larger version.
The bars are still in the plastic as they were never opened.

Looking for some STI for my geared road bike. Its currently got the index changers on the frame.
Looking for both a 2 and a 3 cog front as well as a 7 and an eight rear.
What have you got and how much do you want.
Thank you
