Hi all, i was wondering if someone could give me some help identifying this bike. I have had it a while now and was told it was a Claud Butler when i got it but im not too sure. Its my everyday runaround and i really do love it but i would like to know what it actually is and how old it is.... any Claud Butler experts out there? Thanks.

Im game for a team pro but you think honey? might have to do a little photoshop jobby to help me decide. It does kind of suck about the rear derailleur i have asked the family i got it from but unfortunately the original must be lost in the sands of time. That’s why i was thinking go single speed for a bit then when i find its original derailleur i could put it on, i wouldn’t be doing anything silly like changing the hub though. Could anyone hazard a guess at what this bike might actually be worth just out of curiosity.....i think i will decline on the unipack.

a swallow would be lovely bit it would cost as much as the entire bike! would be nice though... obviously not before rattle canning the frame black cutting off the braze ons and fitting the fluro saddle. hmm my sister does need an slr but i think i might cry a little if i had to part with this bike.

i have no idea! i wish i knew how much of it is original, i have contacted Tim from rotrax cycles and sent a few pictures so hopefully i can find out. I want to try and reunite it with its original saddle what ever that may be. It also came with some Christophe toeclips and straps but i took them off, i might put them back on though as it looks a little lost without them.

yeah i think i will keep it as is, it does need a new saddle though. i would like to know what it came with originally. just reading through classics lightweights now, some nice examples but i cant see mine. A link to some higher quality pics if anyone is interested.

Hi all, just wanted to share my lovely new bike. This is a 1952 rotrax I don’t really know much more than that. The bike is in amazing condition and belonged to my friends dad unfortunately it has spent most of its life in an attic practically virgin, bad news for the bike, good news for me. I bought it off my friends mum for £100 and it comes with the original paperwork, I have no idea what its worth but I thought it was defiantly worth a hundred quid, it's beautiful. what do you guys think? anyone seen one like it before? I know the company were based in Southampton and built some lovely bikes, I don’t yet have the paperwork so I cant pry any further. Any advice on a new saddle? unfortunately the original has gone. I was thinking I might convert it to single speed and just use it as my fancy sunny day ponsing around bike, as I already have a fully geared claud but then look at it I don’t know if I have the heart.
