Anyone ride with music on? if so which headphones do you use... mine just broke so i need to buy a new pair.
incidently, best track to ride to?
Sennheiser PX 100.
Over-the-top style headphones, great quality sound, good bass, fold-up, and can be had off eBay for about £25. Use them with a clip-on iPod Shuffle - great combo for cycling, and if either of them happen to get broken, it's not the end of the world (luckily hasn't happened to me yet).
Regarding cycling with music in a city... I do it in London. May be slightly safer without listening to music, but then listening to something you like is much better than honking horns and angry pedestrians/drivers. Also makes me cycle faster and harder. I guess it comes down to if you trust your vision as much as your hearing.

Just wanted to say I got my first PAC bag the other day, an Ultimate, and it's awesome.
Imported from the US second-hand for £140, and includes X-Strap, U-Lock holder and tool pouch.
Pretty happy with it. Used to carry around a North Face Big Shot rucksack and Timbuk 2 Commute XL (for laptop kit) when going home from uni for a week or so, but the PAC Ultimate fits everything in one bag.

Does it come with any optional extras apart from the radio case? X-Strap? Waist belt? Secret Pocket?
Could you please send some photos (inside and out) to: chrisblunt@gmail.com
Am in London so could pick it up in person if you're around.
Thanks!

Thanks for the info.
I basically want a SS road frame which looks good, is fast, durable, and comes in the right size for me. Originally was looking at a Roadrat, but they're very plain looking and even the largest size would be too small. Saw the Pompino and thought it looked pretty cool. Also maybe a Soma Rush? I'm pretty new to all this still.

but then again,,, maybe the seller has a tree full of them :-)

sorry if i missed something.
Yep, the bastard emailed me saying "my wife listed the rims and made a mistake", and then re-listed them straight away as an auction, boooo!
I'll sort it out somehow...

So, I am currently amassing parts for my first single-speed road bike.
Here's the theoretical spec:
FRAME - On One Il Pompino XL (57cm)
FORK - 3T Funda Carbon
RIMS - Velocity Deep V (OWN)
HUBS - Miche or Surly
SPOKES - DT Swiss
TYRES - Continental ???
CRANKSET - Miche Pista
PEDALS - Burgtec Penthouse Flats (OWN)
SADDLE - SDG Bel-Air RL (Titanium rails, Tiger print) (OWN)
SEATPOST - Thomson Elite 27.2 x 410mm
STEM - Thomson Elite X4 100mm x 0*
BARS - ??? 46cm
BRAKES - Shimano XTR BR-M960 Rear V-Brake (OWN)
HEADSET - CHRIS KING NoThreadSet 1 1/8th (OWN)
SEAT CLAMP - Woodman Deathgrip 29.8mm
BAR TAPE - ???
CHAIN - KMC Devil D101Now, questions:
- Does anyone have an XL Pompino in BLUE which they want to sell me?
- Which are the better hubs, Miche or Surly? I'm looking for strength. Anything else I should consider?
- What length crankset should I be looking at getting?
- What are some good, strong, Over-sized handlebars? Was looking at Deda Zero's, but they're a bit pricey and can't find any second hand.
- Any other suggestions/changes to spec? I want a bomb-proof SS road bike that's still going to be fast as hell. I'm 6ft4 and 95kg if that makes any difference to anything.
Thanks.
Chris

Ok, noob alert here...
I am buying parts for my first SS road build, a On-One Il Pompino.
1. What BB width do I need? According to On-One it's a 68mm, BSA (English) thread BB, but they mention nothing about how to choose the correct width
2. I am 6ft4, which crank length should I go for? Is it very important to get the correct length, even if it's just 2.5mm different?
Will probably have more questions to come.
Thanks.
Chris
