thanks Andy, so apart from the aesthetics it'll be ok.

There is a small dent the size of a 5p coin about 2-mm deep halfway up the seat tube (seat tube is c-c 49-cm) tubing is 653. I brought the frame with this on it so I have no idea how it got there. Can anyone comment on whether they think it is safe to ride?

It's the original aerospoke paint - it's notoriously shit at staying in contact with their wheels.

Nevermind, was hoping someone around here did it, I wasn't sure whether the factory paint job would paint the braking surface aswell, well if it's good enough for them...out with the paint on the weekend I reckon...

I have a black areospoke wheel, the lock nut thread is damaged so can only be for freewheel, guessing that a) it's not a halo and b) it's not fixed that this was a watse of 30 seconds for the both of us but you never know.

I used a bit of scaffolding i found in my back garden and a hammer. I did it for the experience too.

What is it with back gardens having spare bits of scaffolding lying around?

Also make sure you put the (caged) bearings in the right way up, i didn't and couldnt get the set up right (i.e bar spins, no knocking.

I have no idea what this is, which is worrying and means I need to read more and probably should go to a shop.
