Afternoon folks! Having just sorted out a frame for touring I have realised that my current wheelset is not going to be man enough for an upcoming fully laden trek in the Andes...
So what do you lovely bikers have that might float my boat? Needs to be in good condition and 130mm spacing 700c capable of running 9-speed kit and tyres 32mm plus.
Cheers! Zack

@onyerbike - dglshrn is oh his way around this evening for the tandem but I'll update if anything changes there.
And the SR cranks appear to be spoken for but just waiting on collection and some other bits updated in main thread.

Having a bit of a clearout to make some space for the new touring bike that's on it's way. All items are located in SE5 and are for collection only. Dibs and pm's all well and good but cash on collection will take priority...
1/. 700c Wheel - Green Gran Compe Hub (Fixed/Fixed) on Green Deep V Rigida Rim - Generally great condition, just two small scratches on the rim. Complete with gatorskin tyre and tube in just alright condition. Was £50...Now £45
2/. 700c Mavic Open Pro built on Campagnolo Veloce hub (w/o cassette) with DT Swiss spokes. Great wheel but I need something now that can take 32mm+ tyres so it's surplus to requirements. Pics to follow Was £50...Now £45
3/. Brand new Sturmey 5-speed bar end shifter. £13...Now £11
5/. Campagnolo downtube guide - vintage and lovely condition with mounting bolt. Rare part but again surplus to requirements. £10...Now £8
9/. Campagnolo Nuovo Record Rear Derailleur, patent 78. Generally lovely (although there's a weird blue behind the Nuovo Record wording). The bolt to attach the gear cable has been modified due to threading and so tightening it it a bit of a pain but once it's on there it's on there more solidly then before! Due to non-original bolt, £12...Now £10
10/. TA Specialites Vento 45 chainring. 135bcd. Great condition, very little use. £10
11/. Weinmann vintage brake levers. £4 (ONE PAIR LEFT)
12/. Dura Ace front derailleur with band-on clamp. Almost new condition if not for 2 scrapes on the outside of the cage. £8...Now £6
13/. Chainsets:
Mis-matched cottered crankset, RFG and Durax arms. 52/45 double. Was £5...Now £314/. Sturmey Archer 3-speed thumb shifter with cables. £5
15/. Variety of handlebars
Drops (bottom 2 in pic) - £4 each (ONE LEFT)
Nicer Drops (top 2 in pic) both Italmanubri (ITM) - £8 each
Risers with an option of grips - £6 each with your choice of grip
3TTT North Road Handlebars - new and never fitted - Wish I had a use for these but went a different way with a build...£15...and breathe...

And if anyone finds one of these kicking around in their shed they're not using then pipe up:

Dear Forum
Can anyone can offer up a decent touring bike for an upcoming trip I have to Asia and South America? It needs to be fairly robust (kind of goes without saying for touring right?) as I'll be packing it all on there. Front and rear racks (or at least mounts and I can sort them out) essential!
I ride a 58cm road bike so something in that region would be ideal. And in fact, it doesn't need to be a whole bike as I'd happily put something together myself with the right core.
Open to suggestions too as I ride a lot of other bikes but long distance touring hasn't really featured in my life yet so offers and advice are welcome!
Yours Sincerely
Zack Esq.

mmm they'll be good on moustache's!
I'm off on holiday this Friday and not sure I can fit any in before I leave. If you can be without your bars for bit still drop them around and I can try and do them, else it'll be when I get back on the 26th...Will have plenty of time after that to get the needle and thread out
PM me. Z

tis the front wheel and is more of a cavity then a crack but it could easily propagate. Sounds like you dodged a bullet A EF - perhaps I just should not stand in the firing line...
So back to the OP does anyone in London have a 700c 36h box section rim (built up or not) that might suit? I guess it's also similar to some mavics (i.e. MA2) and other box section rims...

I've noticed a weird cavity appearing on my front rim which cant be a good thing (see below). I am not, nor do I know any rim dentists that can fix this so I'm looking to replace the rim with something similar.
The rim is a Wolber Super Champion Modele 58, 36h, 700c. It's similar to the rim in this ad http://www.lfgss.com/thread67997.html but unfortunately Fade's not in London anymore
Does anyone have anything available in London (built up or not) that I could switch out onto my wheel?
Thankyouplease

Going to be carrying 2 months worth of survival gear (that's a LOT) of power bars so 36h is a minimum...
