Morning all
I have an old set of Shamals and the rear finally needs truing (and one spoke is doing nothing so some tensioning too!)...problem is, none of the tools I have will allow me to tighten the nipples...they're internal and bolt head only (i.e. no screwdriver head on them which would make life a whole lot easier)
Does anyone have, or better still know where I can get, a socket tool that will be able to do the job (I've tried a few shops already and nothing)? Don't want to take it to the shops yet as I'm sure I'll need to tighten it again in the future so might as well have the tool myself...
Cheers, Zack

thanks to an unfortunate encounter with a pint of water, my Macbook Pro is back in the garden of eden.
So I'm on the look out for a replacement. I'd love to get the same model (A1226, 2008 I think 2.4GHz, all aluminium) as then I can try and save anything from mine that still works, but would also be interested in later models that people have.
Is anyone (not literally) sitting on one that they would like to part with? London only please as I'd like to check it out before exchanging for money of course!
Cheers
Zack

I'm upgrading my front panniers to Brooks to match the rears so my pair of Ortlieb black roller plus panniers are just going to gather dust. They still have the original box and receipt (bought 18/02/13 for £71.25 which is still the cheapest I can find for the latest models). That means you scan claim on the 5-year warranty if anything ever happens to them. Other than a small nick in the bottom corner of one of the bags (which has been repaired and sealed with waterproof tape) these bags are in great condition. I used them recently to tour with and they were fantastic but I feel like draping the bike with more Brooks because the rears I have were even better!
So I'll either trade the pair for a single Brooks John O'Groats pannier or I'll sell them for 30% less than you can get them online: £49.88 - call it £48
Pick up from SE5 or can meet central

I thought a honey Brooks Team Pro was going to suit my latest build
I was wrong
Only my black one looks right on it but it's used daily on another bike
So, does anyone fancy a saddle trade. I can take some pics if needed but it's in great (used) condition, big copper rivets, worn in but not worn out. Would be looking for something in the same condition of course. And black!

Thanks Mr Bump! I'm running friction shifters as cannot be fussed with getting specific matching shifters to go with the gear set. Plus I quite like the manual feel/adjustment that you get with them. I've found a Deore XT MTB rear mech which should handle the range and Ben's front triple Deore looks good too. Fingers crossed it all just works exactly like it should as I'm off next Friday!
Only thing left is that bottom bracket...Anyone with a 122mm or wider ISO bottom bracket (68mm English) that they don't need then please let me know...

To Forum
For my birthday I would like the following:
- Bottom Bracket - [I think] English threaded and for running the chainset in bullet point one (ISO I believe) so I think it needs to be about 122mm...I might need to check that though or take your advice!
- Front Mech - Think I'm sorted...
- Rear Mech - Ordered...just hope it works first time now!
Contrary to normal birthday etiquette, I am willing to purchase these items as really it's really for the birthday of my 'ever nearing completion' Trevor Jarvis
I'm not looking for tat but I'm not looking to break the bank either. Always open to temptation though if you've got something nice (characteristic) to offer...that is after all how I ended up with the frame!
Yours
Zack (and Trev)

can you remove the clamp on bit from non-braze on ones? https://www.lfgss.com/thread100399.html#post3385912

Cheers Ludd, I might struggle to fit the tool through the hole on the rim too but worth a try! PM'd
