Most of them seem to be okay, have had a few incidents that have required a "chat" to the driver.
I did have another problem when I was on a night bus - driver stopped and ordered everyone off. He said the bus was not working, sat in his booth and refused to say any more. We were all stranded late night in Wandsworth, then he started the bus and drove off.
I contacted bus people to complain - they denied all knowledge of this and said there was no evidence. I sent them a photo I took of the stationary bus (with registration) - bit of a concern when you need to produce evidence and jump through hoops to make them even listen to you. -
That is a shocker - looks like the officer had a chip on his shoulder.
Fortunately not on the force anymore ...
After knocking Long, 30, from his bike Pogan who had only been on the force a matter of weeks arrested him for assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest – claiming in his reports that Long had been weaving through traffic and had refused to stop. The truth was only revealed when the case got to court and Long's defence lawyers produced the video – showing the truth to be very different.

Reconditioned ss raleigh from Dani who has mixed reviews on this site. Personally I found him to be a good guy. He had a selection of bikes, only one of which I really liked. The geometry was spot on for me which has been an issue of the others that I have tried.
Put a few miles on it already and have to say that I am enjoying it.

Hi, I now have a bike. It is a reconditioned racer - I find it more comfy for me as it has a longer top tube/geometry that I prefer.
I just wanted to thank everyone for their advice. If I may add my personal thoughts to this forum I would definitely agree with those who suggest ride as many bikes as you can. Research is good but sit on the actual bikes and go for the one that you like when you ride it!
Many thanks, Jon

what is UTFS ? Use The F Search ?
Not sure if it is me being an idiot but if someone in the last week saw an offer for a good deal I am keen to know where, if that deal does not exist then at least I am not missing out.
Not trying to be a pain in the arse but there is potentially a ton difference in the price.

Went for a test ride on the subway zero at halfords (after inflating tyres myself!) - seem sokay but nothing special.
Just reminded me of a standard mountain bike with slicks on - you sit quite upright compared to a racer if you know what I mean. I think they have just adapted a subway mountain bike, hence the geometry.
Will keep looking ....

Will do thanks!
The bike I think is 5-6 years old (I have receipt somewhere).
This is a double and 9 speed (18 gears), most of the groupset is shimano 105 (shifters, rear derailleur) but there is some Tiagra (front derailleur) Forks are Slice Ultra Si.
Frame is 54cm - I ride it at 5'10 but think it would also suit people shorter than I (I have shortish legs). Frame is very light and stiff - CAAD5.
Thanks.

Hi, I am looking to sell my cannondale R600.
The frame is CAAD5 and it is a 54cm frame in very good condition.
I have had it a while and changed some things on it compared to its original state. The original wheels were too delicate for commuting so put some shimano 560s on, I have also replaced the handlebars recently for some new ones.
£300 ono

Just tried testing a couple of bikes - from evans and halfords! ArghhH!
Evans had various sizes of Charge there - surprised to find that the small was a decent fit - thought I would be medium as I am 5'10. The bike was not as it should be - the fixed wheel cog was missing - hence a flip rather than a flip-flop!
Tried the Subway too - nothing wrong with it but did not feel as nice. It is basically a mountain bike with slicks - nothing against that but I was personally not looking for something that resembles a mountain bike.
Fan of the charge but will check out a couple of others.....

Just want to look good ....just joking - I think like others on here I seem to spend a lot of time gathering and playing with bikes. I had 3 racers, now am down to 2. One I just use around London and I think this purpose wuld be much better suited to a single speed (less maintenance etc).
Also I just fancy a change/something new ....

Hi all, I am new here and like others looking for your generous advice as I hunt a single speed bike.
I have always used geared racers but am keen for a change! I have used the search engines (I will avoid a certain type of bike!!!!) to look at the Subway Zero which looks quite decent for a low price but I do not think anyone has actually bought one.
Does anyone own a Subway Zero or have any reports from anyone that has? Thanks, Jon
Hi, I see above that truli asked about http://singlespeed.angelfire.com/
I got one from there, the guy is called Dani and he seems a good sort.
While some may be critical of the bikes and some recommend them, it would be worth going for a few test rides - both on his bikes and on others.
I tried a large variety of bikes and I felt that one of his bikes suited my needs and was a good/comfortable fit. Good luck with the bike search and start trying a few out, cheers, Jon
