Apparently it is an Astra from the 70s or 80s

The damage is that the top joint near the forks is loose, I wanted a project to building into a bike with say 3 or 5 gears, maybe racing wheel handles (this might look stupid on this frame???) brooks saddle and leather handle bar straps etc. Just to make it into a really nice bike, perhaps fixed wheel single speed eventually!

Hey everyone, fairly new to bike building and this forum, I managed to grab a cheap frame off ebay and am looking to build up a bike from scratch, respray etc.
Here is the frame
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&item=330343665030
it needs a lug rebrazing the one between the top tube and the fork stem, is this difficult, also would this make a good racing bike?
Would it be expensive to rebraze? And where in London can I get it done?
Anyones thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You could try wheelscourier.com, got my bike delivered from Scarbourgh to London for £11, and it took less than a day to arrive. They mainly do car parts but if you email them they'll deliver bicycles as well.
First post here, I've just bought a bike off ebay from Leigh, looking to get it down to London, the courier above is Irish, does anyone know of any sites in the UK that will take a bike for me.
It just needs to be picked up and delivered without packing?
Thanks for any help
I've got a voucher for a driving experience just wondered if anyone on here wanted it, bought by an ex girlfriend and I dont really feel like using it so maybe someone else could use it. It's valid until 1st December 2009.
Here's the blurb from the site
You get to drive the Aston Martin, a great sports car needs a great engine - it is the heart of any high performance machine. In DB9's case,
that great engine is a powerful yet refined all aluminium 6.0-litre V12.
Top speed is 186 mph and acceleration sees 62 mph in 4.9 seconds! Or the Aston Martin AMV8 the real track car.
Then the outrageously fast Lamborghini Gallardo is normally reserved for Premiership footballers.
Now you can slip into the leather seat, engage the first of six gears and start to work the Italian 500hp V10 engine
that sings as sweetly as any opera diva. Which one will be your favourite?
So Instead of standing around climb aboard for a ride not to be forgotten, there is the opportunity for you & your family to be chauffeured around our challenging Leicester course
(subject to availability).
Offers around £150 would be great, pm if interested.
