It can be fixed, whether it's worth it or not depends on your frame.

Just out of interest.. what caused the chain to throw in your opinion? Poor chain line? Slack chain?

It had a bit of slack in it, been meaning to sort it all week. lesson learned!

So I was just riding up kingsland road and my bike threw a chain, the wheel locked and everyting came to an abrupt stop. Now I've got home to assess the damage and one of the drop outs has bent out and snapped. Does this mean its all over for my frame or can it be fixed?

Yeh, i was thinking to keep the frame as original as possible but then I saw this awesome metallic pink bike, with an original head badge to tell what make it was. Thats whats caused the confusion.

So I recently bought this great 1960s Claud Butler electron, its orange and has some great silver stickers but the paint has flaked off in places and has been touched up by some heavy handed berk with a paintbrush in others.

Now my problem is this, do I try and sort out the scratches and keep it looking original or do I go for a new whole new look with a metallic respray. AAAGGHH decisions, help.

OK, one more more stem question... The frame is a Holdsworth Laquelda which I'm guessing is pretty old. Surely this was originally set up for a quill and has been converted in some way?

Ah but thats the problem. The stem I'm taking off is not a quill....

If I have a 3T stem and want to replace it with a Cinelli quill, do I need to cut down there steerer tube?? If so this seems like a much bigger job than I had anicipated!
