I would still buy from cycletopsuk.
It's tough to run an ebay business, and 100% good feedback when selling vintage stuff must be almost impossible!Just trying to give a heads-up to purchasers of the difference between "cycling 'replica jerseys'" and "replica 'cycling jerseys'". IYSWIM
It is tough, some of the jerseys can be 30 years old so isting them can be a nightmare.
It also means, that we make human errors e.g slightly size a jersey wrong etc. If we do this we provide full refunds 100% of the time.
The issue with this was that we sent a perfectly good jersey to the buyer. It arrived and he was happy with it as he wore it. He then somehow damaged it and expected us to provide a refund. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who damage goods just to be able to return them leaving us out of pocket and with damaged goods. We have to draw the line somewhere.
If you buy a jersey from a sports shop on the high street and try to return it having washed and worn it, they won't accept it, so nor can we.
As usual bad news travels faster than good news. There are more people on this thread with positive experiences of our goods than bad ones, but they get ignored.

Cyclingtopuk, your jersey stock is defected, why don't you take it out of the shop and save faces? you'd reduced the amount of negative feedback a lots as well.
The stock is not defective. 2/100+ items does not make them defective, if it was like 40/100 then I would agree.
With regard to the negative feedback, we had never had one about one of these jerseys prior to this, so taking them out of the shop will not help reduce our negative feedbacks.

in all fairness there is 578 positive for the month.
sorry if i missed something.
Very true, the positives always get overlooked and the small percentage is whats highlighted. We sell 150 to 200 jerseys a week with hardly any negative contact from clients.
We understand that we will never be able to please everyone, and will always attract a certain % of negative feedback. Its the Witch Hunt on here that has disturbed us however.

Calling an inquizative thread on a open forum, a mass internet which hunt, is also a bit harsh.
I would say that this is not an inquizative thread. It contains material pertaining to the fraudulently setting up of a phantom ebay account with its sole purpose to cause disruption to our business resulting in financial losses, whether it be ebay fee's or loss of trade.
I would call that a Witch Hunt.

I agree but in this case, the buyer was careful when washing and it was clearly deffective. Which means the right thing is to refund him.
If he had set it on fire or washed it in petrol then that would be where the other side to the story would come in.
But how can it be proven how he washed it? Im my opinion he washed it at too high a temperature, damaging the top and wants us to rectify the damaged he inflicted to the jersey. If the correct procedure had been followed then I'm sure it would have been fine. As previously stated we've never had any -ve feedback about the colour running in these up untill now.

I cannot really be bothered to wade back through this, but might I ask a) how was this top meant to be washed, and b) how was it washed?
If a) is the same as b) then what is CyclingTopsUK's response?
If a) is not the same as b) then forget about it.
It was supposed to be washed at 40C, it was washed by hand in cold water, apparently.

If the system which fails to provide him a refund for a defective product and the seller wont do the right thing; why should he do the right thing?
Because the system is there to protect both of us. If the system finds in my favour then its because we were right in our convictions. there are two sides to every story............. -
Cant help but agree with this. It might feel like just having a chat amongst mates on here. But this place carrys a lot of weight on t'internet. Its worth pausing for thought before writing a negative thread about a small company.
Not saying you're not your entitled to post your opinion though. It is an open forum after all.
+lots
Rubbish material to wear while exercising.Thank you for that. To start a mass internet witch hunt against us is very harsh imo. People forget that this is our living............

Blimey, if I buy a couple of cheapo t-shirts from Camden and they subsequently fall to bits after a couple of washes, mea culpa. Vintage gear / caveat emptor.
For what it's worth, I've bought plenty of stuff of these guys and it has all been good and delivered quickly without problems.
Can't understand why you'd start an internet vendetta against an independent business for the sake of a tenner! Sorry if that sounds harsh.
Thank you for that, glad you are happy with your purchases.

Oh and also deadly fanny pack - he claimed to have sold 97 of these jerseys without a problem . . . speaking out of his own arse imo!
No we are not. We have sold over 100 of these now with hardly any issue and non ever pertaining to the colour running. I see Deadly Fanny Pack had an issue, but to my knowledge he didn't let us know.

The Sales of goods act does not extend to used items.
Our business model does allowing for compensating customers, and we do all the time e.g if a mistake is made in the listing etc.......
