hey Reginald, I saw your bike on ebay, shame about the fork but a good buy. I just got a peugeot locally ,paid 35 quid, I'm just looking into it's spec. etc, with a view to going fixie. Here's a few pics......
Can't see the link =( Also If all goes well I should be getting some forks tommorow.
need to clean it maybe because its dusty as fuck, remove all the shit, new saddle etc..
I am however still torn between whether I actually want a FG or SS(logic says duh, get a flip flop) but Im on such a tight budget I can only really afford a wheel with one or the other. I can't decide.
I also need to find someone with pipe cutters to chop my handlebars or perhaps rollover to my nearest hardware/B&Q, bop in with my handlebars and just sneakily use some cutters to do the job without actually buying them.

But are there not more bike journeys in Hackney than any other borough?
More bike journeys = more bikes locked up on streets = more thefts possible = best place to go if you are a bike thief
Probably has something to do with the fact Hackney only has ONE underground station in the whole borough, Manor House which "real" Hackney folk don't even count as Hackney.

Thanks for the tip off Reg. I think the Mirage was Dawes top of the range 531 frame in the 70's. I had the next one down an "Echelon" and I think I remember lusting after the Mirage.
Anyway, leaving out this old boys beer and weed befuddled ramblings, at £25 it was a steal!yea I was gonna get the bigger Dawes one but I ended getting a blue pug and an amazing price so I didnt

So I've built up my Orrell and I've been riding it around - and it's lovely to ride :)
Not finished yet, need to wait for Mack to finish making my hubs (set of black high flange superlights with blue lock rings/washers) so I can get my wheels built - think it's going to be black open pros and black nipples. Until then I'm riding on the wheels from my Flyer. Probably needs a black chain really too, how impractical...
I've got some metal blue Fizik bar tape I'm thinking of fitting to match the saddle/bars, but not completely decided on this yet. Any thoughts on to wrap or not to wrap, or half wrap, appreciated.
Holy Chr*st, thats amazing.

Yeah. You can see the how the fork is bent backwards making the fore clearance rediculously tight. I think the old owner cycled into a wall or something. Ha. I need knew forks those and I have no clue which type/make/size to get.
Was gonna bid on this pink mercier, collect it from London fields and then cycle it straight from there to armourtex round the corner but it reckon its going to finish around atleast 100

Hey. I Picked up this 80s Peugeot on eBay for a great price and am going cut the handlebars, clean it, strip it of all excess bits 'n bobs and convert it to a FG
The only problem (and reason it was a bit cheap) is that the Forks are bent. It still rides ok but I'd prefer not to be road kill. I've been looking around on the regular places but I wanted to know beforehand if there was any particular type of fork I should be looking at that will 100% be compatible with this frame and if anybody knows if dawes, schwinn, raleigh etc. forks would be fine or can I get it straightened somewhere in London
merci
Will the Cog in pic 1 work with the wheel in pic 5 and is the wheel 700c?. If so dibs on Red ourys, 16t cog, pic 5 wheel and chain
