I currently feel like I may never be able to buy a place of my own, even if I leave London (which I plan to do as soon as personal and professional circumstances allow). It's depressing.
I am leaving London before long too, it is insanity - paying £15k a year into someone else's 'investment' or taking out a huge mortgage. I think we could buy a place a bit further out, but lost interest a while ago.
I am just an average Joe with a basic understanding of economics, but I can't see how anyone else thinks it is sustainable - I think there is a chance of a couple of things happening:
- buy-to-let people crying when the interest rates go up and they can't make any money or get their money back. Good.
- people panic buying now at silly prices being screwed when they can't get their money back in a few years, because there is no-one left who can afford to prop up the pyramid
I think the government is using housing to make the economy look good, and once the election is over, interest rates will be up and things will start going backwards again. Tell me if you think I am wrong though!
- buy-to-let people crying when the interest rates go up and they can't make any money or get their money back. Good.

I would like to simultaneously get this out of my flat and donate to the forum, however as I am now unemployed I don't have much spare money
So whoever picks this up can have it if they donate to the forum
It holds 2 pretty beefy mountain bikes (full sus and steel hardtail) so it will hold your electro-carbon MAMIL whip and posey fixster rides with ease.
It is adjustable height-wise and will come with a nice tile as a steady base, and more fittings if you want to hang more shit off of it. Also the horizontal bits are totally adjustable, if you have a drill.
It is cream so will also totally blend in with the uninspiring colour scheme your landlord chose four years ago. There is a photo of it in action on the storage thread.
It cost me £45 to buy the bits and an afternoon of pissing about getting it together, so was thinking a £15 or £20 donation to forum would be nice.
I live in Putney and its pick-up only, you will need a car. I do not live near a rail/tube station, although it would be just about manageable on public transport. I can sweeten the deal with some stickers, and a cup of tea. No post, obvs. The tea would get cold and the postman would get all annoyed
Thanks

Yep hope to ride again definitely, got some annoying leg problems now but hoping that 18 months doing absolutely nothing will help me recover, then start again slowly.
In the mean time this bike has become a coat rack, and I could use the money to buy a helicopter ride from Vegas to the Grand Canyon instead

Thanks, I have priced it to sell
I forgot to mention, the front mudguard needs a couple of replacement bolts from SKS but these should be a couple of quid tops.
I am 5'11 (well probably 5'10 now) and this is probably the tallest someone riding this bike would want to be
Will also include the Krypto lock pictured. Also the bars are PRO LT and the seatpost is On One, the nice CNC one a la Thomson

I did wonder, what's going to happen when they actually get into the EU parliament building.. and the day-to-day stuff isn't too taxing, and the buildings are very nice, and the canteen is nicely subsidised, and all their expenses to and from the nice hotel are taken care of, and a nice man picks them up from the nice hotel in a big nice car to take them to and from the airport and their Brussels office, and suddenly they aren't in any hurry to destroy the nice job that just fell in their lap? What then?
