To explain further... It was badly setup when I bought the bike. Loads of things wrong with it (eg. there was no rim tape! The guy sold it because he kept getting punctures!), one of the things wrong that I didn't notice at first was that the chainring was put on the wrong side of the crank (the inside, rather than outside). TF didn't notice either and to compensate for this they actually didn't thread the BB all the way in, to get the chainring further away from the frame. Still wasn't enough space though when all it needed was the chainring moved.
Sorry, to include TF in the "cowboys" gang probably wasn't necessary for what was just an oversight. I've heard nothing but good things from other people. Expensive though, £30 to fit a BB.

Mosquito bikes on Essex road assured me the valve on the inner tube they gave me was long enough for my rims when it obviously wasn't.
I walked into BLB once after a brake lever and out of the 3 or 4 people working there, no one would speak to me so I just left!
I bought a bike for her at home from Cloud9 cycles and the BB axle snapped right off after the 1st 5 miles.
I got a bottom bracket from Tokyo fixed last year. Expensive, chainline was way off, BB was poking out the side of the frame!
So is there anywhere good to go or are they all fucking cowboys!?

Wow that Rose is quite nice. But you can only order it from one place. In Germany. And it sounds like their customer service is a bit naff.
So at the moment we have:
Planet X RT-57 SRAM Force
Cannondale 2013 Synapse Carbon SM 5 105
Cannondale 2013 Supersix SM 105The Canyon only comes in a 56. The Focus has great spec but I'm not sure about the angle of that TT. The Synapse may be a bit too "walk in the park" for me and I'm guessing not as responsive as the others. The PX looks like an absolute bargain and a great bike but the Supersix seems like a much nicer frameset and something that could over the years be upgraded to something pretty sweet. Plus, I can get the Cannondale's locally but it all depends on the deal I can get.
My brain is about to explode, I'm going for a pint while I can still afford it.

Yes, totally agree. I'm sure the shop would give me the online discount and yes I can just rock up and talk to someone if there are any problems. Plus, we should all do what we can to support our local shops, whether they're a butcher, grocer or bike shop otherwise one day they'll be gone! That discussion is for another time and place though!
Video spammed. What a total cretin. I hope you get your lovely bike back.
