If you want shoes and not trainers then you could look atthese. I like my pair, but won't replace them as I think they are real leather and also sweatshop.
Jonny, you really made your own?

Almost two months later, any plans to revive this splendid idea?
I would have thought it might be a plan to stagger successively longer rides, so Stratford, Shrewsbury, Oxford ...

Heathens? I was told they average 15mph, which is a bit faster than I would like to average for 4 hours straight. How 'ardcore was it? -

27" wheel is chromed french steel (Rigida or summat). A bit dirtier than I thought, a few speks of dust but should clean up nice.
@chalipin,
3-speed hub? My wife's bike is a 3-speed SA 26" wheel, looking to swap it for a single speed. Not sure about the drilling but I'd consider a swap for the hub or trade it + give money for a SS rear wheel or summat. -

...don't think you can get a tyre changed for £15 at most bike shops. ...
laughable isn't it? Selly Cycles opposite the Sainsburys will do you a full service for that. They generally don't charge for fitting parts as long as you buy from them. Now, either they are far too cheap to stay afloat or other bike shops are far too dear. Supposedly punters still complain about their prices though...

I think that belongs to a fella called ethan who runs the brum uni cycle user group thing.
1- There are more than one Pompino owners at Brum uni, might not be mine ("my" bike still gets spotted there and I havn't been to the uni for two years)
2- "run" the cycle group? I was an active member at best. -

I'll have renewed enthusiasm for these things when the school term is done, give me a month.
