Planet-X carbon seatpost.
A couple years old but only used a month (40ish miles) as I decided it wasn't worth riding a carbon seat-post on a steel frame. Seatpost is apparently worth £90 new

It's not immaculate, it has been used on a bike, but it is crash free and in good condition. £30ish? ono (+Postage) -
X-ion mtb clip shoes, size 9UK (43EU) - not pristine but not overly used.
27" front wheel, with almost new front tyre.
Planet-X carbon seatpost.First two are worth beer money at best, seatpost is apparently worth £90 new

and I havn't used it much as I decided I don't trust Carbon. £30ish? ono -

i'm going to walk out on a brittle and flimsy limb and say i don't understand the point.
...
i propose either speeding up and properly dominating a lane of traffic (as a car would), or making it more of a party atmosphere so at least some of the motorists can get along with it...Um, the point is hard to pin down as it is whatever point the consensus of the riders showing up feel like making.
As to the second point, I'd paraphrase Rob Newman and say "don't wine about it, otherwise you'll be in charge of fixing it".
I used to show up regularly for years, back when making 10 riders was a record turnout. I mostly don't show up because I don't have the time to get in from south birmingham. The last couple rides I went on were good. The soundstation on a trailer is good, but slows things down. I would rather a faster pace, but that would mean dropping slower riders - do they not have a right to ride?
The solution is to have 100 riders show up, which would happen if everyone showed up on the same ride - BUT that won't happen - I know I won't be there (not for disgruntled reasons, but I have a mini-belgian to look after now, which takes up all my time). -
To answer my own question, took the canal on the way back, level with the metro stop - the one before you get to the Hawthornes. Going from town you have the choice to ride out on the left or the right - the right hand side is clear and wide, the left is muddy and narrow. My biggest problem was not knowing the canals in brum and circling town a couple times trying to get out.

New question:
- My current bike has a 55mm chalinline 135 spaced hub: on-one inbred. These are no longer made, rather on-one do a double-fixed with a 48mm chainline. Can't source a new 55mm hub, so should I change the chainline on my bike - two new rear wheels? If so, should I look at re-spacing the rear dropouts to the more common 120 spacing and be able to use the same wheels for both my bikes (who does this in B'ham?).

Though amusingly if the original owners spots you riding the bike you bought at auction, they're entitled to get it back (unless they've claimed on the insurance).
