Looked all over the internet but can't seem to find a definete an answer for this:
Do new (pre-2000) campag/shimano brake shoes fit older (pre-2000) campag brake callipers? If not, thats a bit of a bugger.
I have some 94/95 monoplanars that could do with some new pads, except being on the cheaper end of the range they don't have any shoes, just a moulded threaded pad.
Unless one of the new fittings fit its either new brakes time or some crazy filling unless anyone has any good ideas?Cheers!

So my nice new hubs + rims are at a bike shop being built, the only problem being i forgot to check my front spacing (i checked the rear, of course!) - until just now.
I guess i thought there was no way it could be anything other than 100mm, this is an 80s italian frame, it was only those french that used funny sizes right?Turns out i have 96mm on the front... argh!
So, i think i have three options:a) try and bend the forks, i only need 4mm, how hard can this be? On the other hand i think there is a good chance i could completely fuck up the steering doing this.
b) remove the washer behind the locknut on the hub (could use these to help space the rear as well!). Is this easy to do?
c) get a 96mm hub/new fork... hardly ideal aaand expensive...
I'm thinking b) is there any good reason i shouldn't do this?

Yesterday the same bike, with slighlty different components finished at £430! but did not sell because it had not reached its reserve.... one of the best bargains ever.
well done ^
Yeah i was watching that one.. but £100 crazy stuff, if only it had been in my size :)
I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did really, on for a good few hours!
Like i said in your previous thread, I'd definitely take a fair bit of the campag stuff off your hands if you decide to split.
