These stems are pretty rare even in Japan, specially of this length. BIA stamped, which was the predecessor to NJS, so it makes this stem pretty old and rare.

@Y-S: did you have any luck with the police about your bike?
no luck, I gave all the information they could possibly need to at least get my bike back on Friday, but of cause they did f**k all. And kept calling me to check if I was happy with the officer that came to ask me questions, while the thief sold the bike... WTF, do the job before ticking the boxes!! lessons learned, never rely on the police, they really don't give a shit, and take actions yourself and ask police for assistance.

Would it be worth someone taking the broken D of YS and cutting it with an angle grinder to see how long it actually takes.
I'm pretty sure they didn't spend more than 10 minutes. it was locked just outside of the office in the court yard, and we didn't even notice any noise.
It was locked on the same spot pretty much everyday, so they must have been eyeing for it. -
-
My bike was stolen from outside of the office today. It was locked with a kryptonite evo mini lock to a kryptonite anchor. the thief cut the lock through probably with an angle glinder in a very short period in a gated(unlocked) development.
It's a pastel green Raleigh special products cyclocross bike, and had ksyrium sl wheels, schwalbe cross pro tyres, deda zero100 stem, deda newton bars, fizik aliante saddle, campag centaur ergos, veloce mechs, chorus chainset, paul neo retro cantis, and sks mudguards. -
it's pretty normal that your HR goes up for the same power output when you're in the drops.
HR goes up in the drops, I think, because you need to use your upper body a bit more. Also the movement of hip joint/thighs are slightly more restricted(depends a bit on your flexibility, of course). but in real life, aero advantage of being in the drops are far greater when you're not in the bunch/working at the front. -
No need for winter training for me.
I just bought these...
Planet X one week sale. 10,15 or 20% off, depending how much you spend. These worked out about £350 - can't go wrong... apart from not really being able to afford them :Sbeen waiting for them to restock their track disc for a while and they finally got them in stock and 20% off! the price went up from £505 to 595, but £480 now with 20% off!!! Probably the cheapest track disc around, and if I'm not mistaken, these are same as FFWD and PRO discs.

Good Friday eh?
Interesting...
The opens are meant to be club organised races with a different club running each one SFAIK. Open to all.
AFAIK, anyone with BC licence can enter good friday meeting. You can't do EOL and you can't ride in certain events like invitation sprints or stayers or pursuit, but there are juniors and youths riding in mass start as well.

I've been using tubs for last 3 seasons at Herne Hill, and had 3 punctures so far. 2 vittoria chrono evos and 1 veloflex record, all of them lasted at least a season, and they are all fairly light racing tyres. Also if you are getting tubulars, it really helps to have a spare set of wheels as when you do get puncture, you aren't going to waste a whole session/meeting for a puncture.
And if you can't afford/be bothered to have a spare wheels, and mostly only ride Herne Hill, a good pair of clinchers will do you better than cheap tubs. -
-
which ever you prefer would be fine.
those fujis have higher than normal bottom bracket. 45mm drop instead of 50-55mm. so that should give more than enough pedal clearance with 170 if you want to ride reeeaaalllly slowly.
And i'm pretty sure many of the world class endurance riders use 170mm now, unless they are short.
One thing high bottom bracket does is higher centre of G, which affect stability of the bike a bit. 170mm would compensate that a bit, I would imagine. -

hope you guys heal up quickly. pain killers help for first few days, and for grazes, try melolin dressing. I've found them really good for road rashes.
it was a pretty bad crash, though the second crash which took more people down was probably avoidable. do not rubber neck when there's a crash, just concentrate on where you are going!
you will crash at some point when you race track, but don't let that put you off. -

Are you interested in frame & fork alone?
I've got a couple of frames I need to sell that was ridden by a 5'2 girl.
An Orbit Harrier touring frame+fork 46cm ST 53cm TT, and Zullo criterium 49cm ST 50cm TT.
