so, with errors and optimistic weighing, different frame sizes etc, taken into account, theyre probably about the same.

although, i'd imagine the langs would come in at a quarter of the price of a new track champ frameset

maybe a quarter is optimistic, i'd pay 100 notes for a langster frameset with forks headset and bb - possibly. (before research)

Seems like a lot of money to spend on a Langster. But if it fits well and you like the ride...

yeah i've never even ridden one, i can't imagine the ride would be a problem though - despite looking a bit crap i think they have a good rep for comfort and handling.

I'm just getting some ideas for a lightweight build really, the reason I was leaning towards langster - is I could potentially get one cheap on the bay, sell off unwanted components, and start with a relatively light alu frame and spend some cash on parts

Dolan track champ framesets are a reasonable price, and light (er) ? perhaps, and even with a relatively heavy wheel build I dont think they tip the scales -

You would have to change pretty much every single component to get it to 6.5kg so a bit more than whittling.
Set your sights at 7.5 for an easier life :-)

is this with brakes and the std wheelset, saddle, seatpost etc?

Go for a fuji track, £350 online,

spend 50 quid on a brake and lever, and get a nice saddle and some decent tyres and a 17/18/19 tooth sproket and you've got a nice solid bike :)

I'm 6'5" and in 'classic' proportion. Classic in the same way that you get 'classic good looks'. Long legs but not all legs.

it was definately about 8 quid in, a saturday night, don't think it was anything special just a normal night-
it took me most of the night to realise the beer was cheap and everythin else was through the roof

that moots would be nicer in man size

Maybe i got the wrong impression of Plastic People when i was there,

from what i remember, the negative points were,

-the £8 to £10 quid entry
-the £5-£6+ drinks!?
-the pretentious crowd - come on, don't tell me they flock there for the good sound system
-the lighting!? wtf, as if being blind drunk wasn't hard enough, I was blind drunk in the pitch dark

i just thought it wasn't that anything special for the prices
but i've only been once
