Well now, I've been watchin all the comin and going about MJ on this forum and it seems that people have mixed views on the man.
Only natural, people being different and all.But it does seem that some are getting het up about the opinions of others.
So here's my take, for what its worth.
The man had the most abnormal childhood imaginable which lead to more then a few personality issues in later life. A symptom of this upbringing and the associated isses was that he was a musical genius.
Another symptom was that he formed some strange and not very healty relationships, which inturn led to scandal and unproven allegations (although its pretty obvious that he bought his way out of the trouble he had gotten himself into).
He also denied his heritage and tried to model himself as an eternal child, again indicative of fairly deep seated problems, probably caused by the aforementioned childhood. So in a way I feel sorry for the man, in another way I respect his talent (and truley love some of the music), and in yet another way I despise some of his behavior.
But its all moot now, he is gone and eventually we will all follow.I don't dig all the wailing and crying, equally I don't dig lambasting a dead man.
But he was what he was and, as I said earlier, we all have an opinion. -

Thanks for the tip off Reg. I think the Mirage was Dawes top of the range 531 frame in the 70's. I had the next one down an "Echelon" and I think I remember lusting after the Mirage.
Anyway, leaving out this old boys beer and weed befuddled ramblings, at £25 it was a steal! -

OK!
me and a friend have been having the classic fixed/gears fights!
coupld shots here and there and it comes down the final twin death match for the belt!!
need some ammo for a massive combo knockout punch
quotes by big shot bikers would be nice!thanks all!
Getting back on thread:
It is impossible to win an argument about personal preference. You like what you like because you are an individual. Your friend likes gears, you like fixed, niether of you are right in an absoulte sense, yet both of you are right from your own personal perspective.
As said, why argue about taste? -
-
Moral? Who cares.
Superiority? Definitely.
Winning is good but it is ensuring the other person loses and knows he has lost that really counts.
Yeah, I used to think that way, then life kind of happened to me and now many years down the line winning is not so imprtant as taking part.
Let the winner crow that he is the best/right/victorious, I'll have a toke and admire the view. -
Until you both sober up.
Hit him in the face with a D lock and the argument will be over forever.
Violence solves nothing. Admitedly if the other guy is dead he can't argue, but will you feel that nice warm glow of moral superiority?
I don't argue anymore. let folk believe what they want to believe. I don't ever remember anyone thanking me for proving them wrong, even when I was doin them a favor.

God is dead.
We killed him when we raised the false idols of Jerry Springer and Opera Winfery.
He went to a nice home for the aged and befuddled and passed away peacfully in his sleep after a nice supper of cheese on toast (with Lea & Perrins sauce).
The weekly obeisance on a Sunday morning has been replaced by a daily 4 hours of mindless TV.
God: RIP
