James,
I'm not sure what's going on, but you've not replied to IM's or posts on this thread for a shipping update. What's strange is that I've been monitoring (stalking) your user profile page and it shows you've been logging in every couple of days... still no communication?Anyway, I've now ordered the seatpost from somewhere else. Please can you refund me the full money including paypal fees. You might still have a buyer in @shironish ^^^^

3 mins in 6 weeks is actually it's pretty close to +/- 4s per day COSC certification on accuracy. I don't think you have a problem.
I got a Christopher Ward automatic for my 21st (december) and its my first 'proper' watch but im really enjoying it , altho i have started noticing the time lapsing now, not sorted it in about 6 weeks and its 3 mins out

We're mugs if we give a toss about something as base as going faster than the other guy, basically. Like fucking animals, neanderthals. It makes me shocked just how much importance 'sporting prowess' is given by our consciousnesses.
I disagree if you are talking about generally going faster. Understanding and pushing the limits (in this case) of human physiology is interesting to me. Striving to improve is fundamental regardless if it is physics, TdF, medicine, manufacturing, or even CPU speeds. It seems to me that measurement (by competition?) is a pretty good way of quantifying this.
Sure genes, circumstance, and money enable some individuals to picked up by the 'system'. But I rarely give a monkey's about the individual, and am more interested in the result... can a human run 100m in under 9secs?
That said, I think you have a point when it comes to football.

AFAIK movement isn't everything, just a good starting point. You can have two identical movements, but one might vary +/- 4s a day and the other 60s a day. The difference is down to the expert tuning performed during the final build.
So buy a moody watch with 'good' components and it can still be a pile of crap. Get a moody Valjoux chrono, and your stopwatch might stop-the-watch. This stands to reason (in my head), ask some gimp at halfrauds to put NJS components on a halfrauds bike still won't make you a keirin bike.

Rolex doesn't quite do it for me. They should because they are lovely, but they dont. They've always felt like a safe option, rather than an inspiring one. For equivalent utility I prefer the look of Bremont, Bell & Ross, Schofield. For aspirational (read unaffordable), I like MB&F, Urwek, Richard Mille.
