Bought some and they are now fitted on the Turkish Delight. Only one ride in and they feel the same as the regular marathons, grippy and solid.
They are more yellow than Gum, although i think the turkish green makes it look particularly yellower. So much so that my brown Brooks B17 with copper rivets looks odd. So I'm now waiting for the Brooks C17s in black with gum to arrive, which I think will balance everything out again.

SJS cycles - that's St John Street Cycles right? Was the original store in Bridgwater? That's where my dad bought my first mountain bike from if so, probably around 1992. Memories.
Although my very first bike was a 16" pink and yellow BMX with white tyres and a disk wheel complete with a picture of 'Rad Rat' in a leather jacket violently swinging a cat around his head.

Thought I’d put this on here before anywhere else.
I bought this dog trailer second hand to hitch on to my bike, a couple had it bought for them as a wedding present and used it once for their dog who didn’t like it. It sat in a shed for a year before I bought it off them and used it twice for a 15 mile commute. Since then it’s been sat collapsed in my hallway gathering dust. Wife now wants rid as it’s taking up space and we’re preparing to move, so she doesn’t want to hang on to all my ‘spare’ bike shit (and I just bought another bike)...
It comes with a hitch thingy that attaches to rear wheel. Geared bikes more suitable, i had it hitched to a Brompton which was, frankly, hilarious. But it worked well. The whole thing is collapsible which is handy, and the wheels come off and simply click back on, so super for storage. Suitable for dogs up to 35kg apparently. My mutt is 13.kg and he had plenty of room, I just wasn’t keen on him being that bit further away from me, having previously carried him in a dog-specific rucksack (K9 Sportsac). Needs a blanket to make more comfortable for doggo and also has the rain cover.

I went from skateboards to BMX to gold hipster fixie to Bianchi road to dog ownership with Brompton and roller skates/Derby so I should really have seen this coming.
Somehow I never thought I'd see the day that I'd want, nay, need a Pashley in my life. And not just a Pashley, but one that's called a Princess (barf). Names aside, I actually really love the classic look of them and I will be in need of a sturdy commuter that will safely take a bike basket on the rear rack with a 13.5kg dog in it for 7 miles each way. Not fussed that it's heavy as it will be locked up in my garden in Acton once we move, and at work it'll be locked up inside a secure underground bike garage. Neither do I care about speed, as slower will be better anyway with precious canine on board. I was riding the Brompton with him on my back (in the dog-specific K9 Sports Sack) but my office location changed and my back didn't like the weight. We also tried a trailer and neither of liked how far away and invisible he was.
Apparently I like the prestige of British-made things so has anyone got a modern one in black (only way to keep my street cred) they'd be willing to part with in the next few weeks? Preferably 22" or 'size 3' for my 5ft8 height. There's a few going on the Bay for between £300 and £400. Whatcha got?

'Sup forumengers,
I'm after a bicycle trailer that can be hitched to either a fixed gear bike or a Brompton. I've been carrying my dog in a dog-specific rucksack on a 7 mile commute for the last year (the K9 Sport Sack) which has been great. I've moved offices to one that's further away, and after 3 months of trying I have to admit that 12kg is too heavy a weight on my back for an hour of cycling. It's making me avoid cycling to work which is frankly unacceptable.
I know I can get one online brand new for about £70 but just checking if anyone has one to sell here first! Would consider modifying a kids trailer if anyone has one for cheapses.

Just bought a new Brompton from Evans.
- M6L. Turkish green. OTP but swapped out the tyres for marathons. Added folding front basket. Picking it up proper later/tomorrow. Also ordered a K9 Sportsac for the dog. Look it up, it's fricking weird/awesome.
I'm so fucking excited, more so than I thought I would be. Basically I started a new job last week and HAD been excited about riding my fixed properly in London again... but the wait list for garage bike space is many, many waits. Little time for extra exercise, so needs to come from commute.
Note - we have an 11-year old Brompton (ML3, racing green) already in our household but the wife uses it to commute. I did pay for a brand new rear triangle hinge for it last year when I was using it...and every service... so that makes sense that I get the new one, right?! Hah!

Our Brodie is a medium sized poodle x border terrier - so possibly too big to fit in a basket and possibly too heavy to have in a rucksack! I need to do some more research/reccying on the backpack idea though - there's something called the 'K9 dogsack' that I did want to also look into! Would you be able to please let me know if you have more interest or sell this somewhere else? Cheers!

I saw the person being attempted to be resuscitated, they were behind the lorry in the road. I was in the car today (lower parliament street/pennyfoot street, in front of Machine Mart). It didn't look good. The junction is awful for all road users at rush hour - people rushing though trying to get to work for 9am and generally flouting rules of the road. I hope the person made it.

A cyclist has been taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre following a collision with a heavy goods vehicle this morning.
Emergency services were called to the A60 in the city, at its junction with Pennyfoot Street, at around 8.30am today (Thursday 3 July 2014).
The driver of the HGV was also treated for suspected minor injuries.
The roads are closed while the scene is examined. Diversions are in place but motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
If you saw the incident or have any information contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously.

My girlfriend did one earlier this year at the start of the tri season...she had a similar conundrum to you I believe, in that the cost of kit was daunting.
Check Aldi - I was doing our weekly shop and saw they had some ladies and gents tri suits (not unlike the older Gore bibshorts) for £15. I had to go to a store further away to get the medium size though, which just fit her size 10-12 body. I've seen some knocking about for cheaper still, so I bet they've still got some. It's black and white with a bit of pink stitching/detail, and a front zip, so not a skinsuit. She was impressed with it - was fine for swimming in (although she was worried about top of bum crack showing through the white material at the back but it was fine since it was double layered), the pad was thin but effective for the cycle and the material dried quick. It was her first tri so it was a cost effective choice, I think she'll basically use that same suit until it falls apart.
I watched the event (in Southwell, Nottinghamshire) and everybody was wearing whatever, including skinsuits, so I reckon go with whatever you have and is comfortable. I'm even considering doing one myself, I've been kinda secretly making sure I can swim the distance over the last couple of months!

Embraced the gum, and the more candycane “green battenberg” look bike now has. Added some DMR Sect BMX grips and chopped the flanges off. Ignore saddle angle, need to fix that. Pretty pleased now! I like to think of it as a French Fancy version of the Explore...
