I am completely against cycling on the pavement, I don’t enjoy doing it at all, I feel guilty, I ride slowly because I know I shouldn’t be there. However, I cycle on the pavement twice a day. Why?
Because I work in Angel near the junction with Pentonville Road/Islington High St/City Road and I come down York Way, along Copenhagen Street, Barnsbury Road, Penton Street then I should go onto Pentonville Road and down it until the junction. But I’m scared of cycling on Pentonville Road because it’s a scary scary road with lots of lorries on it, so I go down White Lion St, then go the wrong way down Baron Street then cycle along the pavement of the last bit.
And when I come out of work there is no way I am doing a right turn out onto Pentonville Road, so I go towards Kings Cross down the pavement then become legal at the turn onto Baron Street.
So in short, a combination of a thoughtless one way system and a big scary road is what pushes me onto the pavement. I would like to think if caught doing this the cop would show some judgement as all the rest of my way to work I stick to the road, although there’s no way I can prove this of course...

Seems surprisingly sensible for BoJo. Should definitely be a trial, to see what happens. We may think we will know what happens, but it does need testing.
Interesting that they seem to think that this could help with lorry accidents, but presume these tend to happen when the lights are on green, so would this really help much?

I think there are a lot to iPhone fanboys out there for a reason to be honest. I know the Diamond is not bad, and it depends why you're thinking about something else, but the iPhone really is a fantastic product. And it's so easy to use. Sometimes being different for the sake of being different is indeed silly.

Martyn's (y not i) in Muswell Hill is good, plus if you live in North London a nice ride up the hill to fetch their coffee is a nice activity. Happily buy their pre-ground as they will ask you what it's for and grind it in front of you and it's always done right in my experience.
Interesting to see all these Gaggia's - I can see why, they look nice and seem to do the job, but has anyone else found they break a lot? Other half's Dad went through about six before buying a Krups, so I did the same, they just keep going. I'd like something which froths better though. Any recommendations for good affordable electric espresso machines out of interest? Which don't break?
Anyone buying descaler which is sold as such, don't bother, waste of money, just get citric acid (white powder) from a Turkish shop for a quid, they have always have it in the herb/spices section for some reason.

+1 for the Niterider Cherry Bomb. Brighter than a Havard law Grad with a PHd in Neuropsychology who isn't feeling challenged at the moment.
Would also agree that the sun seems dim by comparison.
Also has the advantage of a sensible standard clip attachment and works as a reflector when not switched on, apparently.
I would, but it's one of those subjects where people stop listening because they've already made up their mind. It's a bit like I'm always trying to persuade my friends to switch bank accounts, because you can get up to £150 for doing so, plus a better interest rate, free travel insurance etc. etc. etc.
But they just go 'oh it's so much hassle' - even when I tell them that they do it all for you and it's really not. And stop listening.
Plus to be fair I do think a helmet can help in certain types of instance. But I'm still not planning on crashing.
Does tricitybendix wear a helmet? I'm guessing yes given these 88mph alcohol fuelled trips she allegedly does, but I don't really know who she is.
Could have worded that better though!
