as i said, i'm happy to lead this out with some assistance.
i'm planning to recce the route as i haven't ridden last years.
this weekend, i'll ride this:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/29129102
most of the route but shortened down to 55 mile.
it'll most likely be saturday, the 5th. it's looking sunny, dry and cold......anyone who wants is more than welcome to come along.
i'll be on the 07:08 from clapham junction to windsor / eton central.--
trains for the 19th i'll confirm soon enough. most likely the 08:02 from clapham junction.
plan will be to depart from staines around 0900 on the 19th

right ho.
sounds like a plan.
2018 route looks mint and the half way stop is well half way and i remember being perfect.
last 23 miles is pretty much flat so easy to smash out in a group.
@pastry_bot you happy to corral the group together? should work well.

wow dan.
so gutted to hear this, really hope the recovery goes smoothly.i'm more than happy to stick my hand up to lead but i'm not 100%.
went and did 50 mile round kent yesterday with over 4000ft of climbing and it was tough work. looking at the hard day i did 2 year ago we only did 3000ft over the 90 odd miles.
in a month of regular cycling, i'm hoping to be in a much stronger place.
if your happy ping me the gpx routes and i'll have a look. they could make up the basis of my riding over the next month.

seems like this is the comeback ride.
it's only been another 2 years.......after doing the 2017 version. which was epic, i've been on a long road of recoveries with 2 broken patellas and 3 knee surgeries in the past year and a half.
i'm way way off match fitness but would love to do this.
it's in the diary.
my longest ride in the last 18 months is 25 mile so got a lot of work to put in but this is the kinda thing i need on the horizon.
best get on the bike.

@youramericanlover @OneLessCardigan
i'm well and truly out. one of the pins holding my knee together has backed out and i'm unable to walk properly. that's really recovery on hold.....
i promise to make an appearance at something this year.
have fun on this, was looking forward to it.

gonna pencil this in the diary.
i broke my knee cap in the summer and had surgery early september so recovering slowly. today i managed to turn my legs through the rotation of the cranks so fingers crossed on getting enough indoor and outdoor miles by the time this rolls round.
always good to have a target in mind!

well everybody a great day in the saddle.
i finished up with 91 miles on the clock so god only knows how much some of you did!
i'm clean and have eaten and surprisingly feeling pretty good.
up for next year but that a-road is a massive no-no. good group decision to bail off it.
only the one stack and that was from standing.....luckily no names.....@youramericanlover
coupla punctures is impressive considering some of the shite we went through at points.
congratulations to the rider of the day @Thuekr, an amazing effort considering an international flight and no brakes.
much love all.
just finished 55 miles.
good route.
unsure i can put my knee through much more tho :(
